Who do you want to win the UCL?

I wanted Bordeaux to win, they somehow managed to squander a hatful of chances to win their tie tonight though.

Same :( I've really taken to watching them since Gourcuff went on his loan spell from Milan.

And for me, anyone but Barca too.

Call me a bitter Chelsea fan if you want, but the real reason behind not wanting to see them win is:

The way that 90% of football fans want Barcelona to win everything, and think they have a god given right to, just because of the way they play football. And then when a team sets up to defend against them, and plays a complete blinder, they get slated by fans and even Barca fucking players alike - Lionel Messi against us. Barcelona, nor half the blinkered fannies that watch them can't understand that football is about defence just as much as it is about attack. They think that their attacking way of playing football is the only way and any other team that is successful against them playing in a defensive manner plays "anti-football".

Aye? Well fuck them.

I speak tosh? You claimed Drogba was the best free kick taker in the world ffs. Get your own house in order first pal.

I don't care if Barca spit the dummy out with teams who park the bus. I love watching them play football as should ALL football fans.

The strangest thing is, you're clearly a glory hunter who doesn't know any Chelsea players from the late 80's/early 90's, so why would Iniesta's goal hurt you so much? It wasn't against Rangers so just accept it.

And let's not forget, Barca were fucked over by Ovrebo too. Abidal sent off because Anelka tripped himself up. They were also denied a stone-waller in Spain.

Barca may moan about team's tactics when they come up against a brick wall defensive unit, but it's better than moaning about referee's like a fucking F*nian every time your team doesn't win (Chelsea fans).

Aye, at the moment i said, and i still think he is. Feel free to prove me wrong, but i can't think of many players who have scored more than him/are more accurate than him this season.

Wrong again, ALL football fans shouldn't. I do, but stop speaking for everyone.

There you are again, wrong. Iniesta's goal doesn't hurt me so much? If anything the fuss they kicked up when we beat them 4-2 at the Bridge to knock them out pisses me off more.

No i don't know barely fuck all about Chelsea from the 80's since i wasn't alive, the first game i can really remember was in 2000 when Barca put us out of the UCL. And IIRC Chelsea were hardly glory hunting material then, but hey you tell me otherwise wise man.

Would you stop referring to Ovrebo!? When have i mentioned Ovrebo? I don't give a shit about that game, but you clearly seem to!

"Everytime your team doesn't win"... Well halle-fucking-lujah you're wrong again!

And personally, the only time i have ever blamed a ref solely for us not winning was against Barca last year - your favourite game apparently as you can't stop mentioning it irrelevantly.

Barcelona.

And I disregard every anti-Barca sentiment in this thread. It's all pish. They're an absolute joy.

In your opinion.

No problem with that, but being told that everyone should want Barca to win, now that's pish. (tu)

I don't think that everyone should want Barca to win but I do feel sorry for those neutrals who don't. Chelsea fans I can understand. Any neutral who loves football and cannot appreciate the beauty of Barcelona is either insane or has been corrupted by watching too many Rangers hatchet men like Graham Roberts and Terry Hurlock :pipe:

I don't want them to win primarily cause i want someone else to win it.

Also, the main dislike i have for them stems from Messi's comment about "anti-football", so it's nothing to do with being a Chelsea fan.

I don't quite agree with Cappa that every neutral would want Barca to win. I've been brought up as a defender as I really appreciate Mourinho's tactics, his counter attacking style is superb.

But why anyone would 'hate' Barca for no reason is astonishing. I hope they do win, I want attacking football to be victorious.

For the first time in a while, I'm happy for the best team to win it. Lyon have one of my favourite strikers around in Lisandro and Bayern probably have two of the best wingers on the planet, as well as young Holger Badstuber and Thomas Muller, the latter WILL go on to great things.

So it's thumbs up all round from me (tu)

I wanted Bordeaux to win also - to be fair Lloris made some cracking saves too!

Same ala Lisandro, he's a cracking striker, great technique. :h34rt:

I'm pretty sure that messi comment, regarding the game against us,was already cleared up as a misunderstanding? that messi just meant we played really defensively, not that we played "anti football". I'm sure there was something to do with the translating, I could be wrong though.

Fair enough. (tu)

Never seen that myself.

No doubt i'll get told by some now that i have it in for Messi too.

Disclaimer - I think he is the best player in the world and has a great attitude.

The thing is, while people are entitled to dislike whichever team they like, I find it sad that some will miss out on the joy of enjoying Barcelona. We can all watch them, and even the haters will concede that they are frequently outstanding, but they won't get the enjoyment out of watching them if they hate them. It's not even just Messi, who is without question the best player alive today and I am glad that he plays for a team who I would watch in every game possible regardless. To see a team with Xavi, Iniesta and Messi playing as they do today is a privilege, and one I am very glad to not have clouded by a dislike of the team.

Agreed.

Has Xavi ever misplaced a pass? I can't remember seeing that happen.

Iniesta as well, he's like a mix of Xavi and Messi. He can ghost past players like they aren't there, as well as run the game from the middle of the park.

And wee Pedro is the berries as well.

Apparently Xavi made something like 250+ passes over the two legs against Arsenal, with an accuracy rating of 93% or something crazy like that. He's awesome.

Barcelona.

I've liked them since the real Ronaldo played for them.

And, I believe they will win it, but I'd prefer it to be a semi final of Barca vs Lyon and Inter vs Bayern, so the possibility of a Barca/Inter final.

But, it will be some semi final.

It's bound to be Inters - and I hope so.

Everyone is creaming about this Barca side, and rightly so, but Inter will shock most people and pull off the win over ther two legs, imo.

Mourinhos last season in Italy, he wants to win this more than ever. ;)

I've kept an eye on Inters results since I got an Inter top for my Christmas 8 years ago so Id quite like them to win it for that reason.

However, a combination of the football they play and the thought of Barca winning the Champions League in the Bernabeau would just be too good a moment to not see.

I'd also like to see Lyon make the final, simply because they have never been there.

Bayern are a bit meh.

Barca, Inter, Lyon, Bayern in that order.

Xavi misplaced 15 of his 244 passes over the two legs against Arsenal with an accuracy of 93.9%.

I can't even remember seeing 15 <cr>
