We'll win the league with big Jelavic playing a crucial part. Gutted for him though. Surely one of the reasons he came to the Famous Glasgow Rangers was European Football.

Also, why would our 2008 Manchester run mean that things are going to be the same this year. Say we were to progress a stage or 4, we could still be going strong in the league. Just because it happened once doesn't mean it'll happen every other time.

In '08 we played 1 game off the maximum possible we could of in a season. 68 of a maximum possible of 69. With qualifying direct for the group stage we're already down to a maximum possible of 65

38 League games

7 Scottish Cup fixtures (only a win against E. Stirling in the 4th round prevented this going to max possible fixtures, we had to replay the other 2 rounds we could of)

4 League Cup games

4 UEFA Champions League Qualifiers

6 Champions League group games

9 UEFA Cup games.

Coupled with freak bad weather in winter leading to a couple of postponements, it meant a huge fixture backlog.

It would never happen again.
