Steven Davis

Wonderful performance from him today, chased everything, and was his usual self between midfield and going forward. Sublime effort off the bar as well, would like to seem him do this more often. It's in his locker, but we rarely see a 25 yarder from him.

Back to his best.

Will he keep it up? Consistency has been a problem for him, think it helped havng the evergy of Naismith next to him. I think he will be flying when we get McKay in there next to him.

consistency has been a problem for him because he hasn't consistently been played through the middle, its clear as the day that it's his strongest position, hopefully the signing of Bedoya will mean Davis plays through the middle more often

Hopefully. As someone else rightfully pointed out above, possession at one point was three quarters in their favour. They saw plenty of the ball, our defence were outstanding.

Thought M'well had too much possession today in large spells. Our midfield was over-run at times. He was fine and tried hard, unlucky with his shot too, but we need to tighten up possession-wise.

Yes, they did but that wasn't too unexpected when our 2 where up against their 3 and I've got to admit their 3 are all good footballers. We also didn't really have a ball winner in there. Both Davis and Naismith are forward thinking players.

Importantly when we had possession we used the ball well and where more decisive than their midfield 3.

Disagree.

Thought we controlled the game and they only got a slight foot in the game(possession wise)when we scored.

We still went away with 55% possession and our counter-attacking was brilliant.

I also think it was a bit poor how much possession Motherwell had but if it was our game plan to sit back, soak up pressure, then counter attack we did it perfectly. Davis was pretty much back to his best today. Also, Naismith was brilliant, he won the ball back more times in this game than McCulloch's done in the past 3 years.

Disagree with what ESPN showing us possession 70 odd % in their favour at one point?

Counter attacking was good, for a change it worked! Always said Jela needed a partner, what a difference!

Surely it was 70% possession in the last 5mins or something.

Over the course of the game we had 55% possession.

Spot on. (tu)

Davis was excellent today and it just goes to show he can be much more influential and much more consistent Steven can be with a quality midfielder in the engine room to help him dictate play.

Naisy was exceptional and my MOTM today but Davis had his best game of the season , no doubt about it and long may it continue. (tu)
