In terms of technique, skill and flair then Jela is clearly better than Naisy. But in terms of value he brings to our team, I'm not so sure it's as clear cut as you imply.

Is he? Really? I must be watching a different Jelavic. And for that matter, a different Naismith.

One ALWAYS gives 100% effort. One always hounds those around him into giving more. One can play in a number of positions (all of them equally beneficial to the team). One scores frequently. One wants to play for us.

The other one's Croatian.

Naismith is easily as good as Jelavic and anyone who thinks he's worth £2-3 million is retarded. He has scored 8 goals this season coming from midfield. More than Jelavic who's been playing up front. He also has an equal international scoring record while playing in midfield and both his goals compared to Jelavic's have been in games that matter rather than friendlies. The only reason Jelavic is worth more is because he is Croatian. End of.

The harsh truth for fans of Jelavic is that his value is static, perhaps slightly higher than it was when he arrived. Naisy's has, at least, doubled.

Irrespective of a price put on eithers head, Naismith is more valuable to the cause.

Naismith has the potential to be one of our best players in years IMO. He is a future captain and loved his attitude when it came to signing a contract extension.

Future captain of club and country and the club cannot sell him £10m bids or not (tu)

At the moment; Naismith > Jelavic.

Simple and true.

Nobody has put forward a valid argument as to why the striker (in more ways than one) is more valuable, financially and to the cause, than Naismith.

Their argument seems to consist of "cos he just is, right".
