What purpose does it serve?No doubt when the madmen farted out the idea they thought it would add excitement to the top and bottom halves of the league for the last 6 games, but all it really does is reduce the number of fixtures from 44 down to 38.I'd rather have 44 games and no split as that would make a hell of a lot more sense while we still have a 12 team league.
