ca11um 30
CAMMY BELL has clinched a four-year deal with Rangers. The Kilmarnock keeper has signed a pre- contract and will join Gers on September 1.As SunSport revealed on Monday the 26-year-old has snubbed the offer of a five-year deal at Rugby Park and will move when Rangers’ transfer embargo is lifted.Bell’s Gers deal is worth around £8,000-a-week, and Ibrox boss Ally McCoist said: “Cammy fits the bill in terms of his ability and his availability in terms of being out of contract in the summer.”SunSport understands Bell will remain 100 per cent committed to Killie until his contract expires. But his switch to Ibrox casts doubt on Neil Alexander’s future at the club. The Gers No1 is out of contract at the end of the season and remains locked in talks over a new deal.Alexander is unlikely to settle for a seat back on the bench.McCoist, above, added: “We would like to keep Neil because I want to have two strong keepers. It would also give me the opportunity to send Scott out on loan"Source : The Scottish SunSorry if it is already posted ......

TheFarmer 260
Decent signing.Still think Alexander is a better keeper though, so would prefer to keep a hold of both.Don't know if Bell is worth £400,000 a year though.

Marco Negri's Beard 1,423
Neil Alexander has been a wonderful servant to us, but I cannot imagine us playing second division football with guys earning 8k+ a week sitting on the bench
Goianegra 4,710
£8k a week sounds a bit much to me, but if he's as good as some on here have made out lately, it'sall good.
Marco Negri's Beard 1,423
Incidently, didn't the weird article earlier from the official site, stating our interest in him, say that there had been no contact yet?
trueblueal 2,117
Fantastic signing, more like this please Rangers. Hately next!
cameron1873 538
Good player but imo if the reported 8k a week is true seems a little high to me

BRITNEY IS NOT FEELING IT 8,293
Good signing , also creates a wee bit of competition to be Rangers number

Oh Barry Barry 96
Decent signing but I don't think he'll be on anything like £8K a week. I think half of that is more likely.
stooarts 4
I can think of other positions that need strenghening before we fork out £8,000 a week for a goalkeeper !
jdonald755 118
How much is he earning at Killie ? 8k seems a lot for a decent SPL keeper.Thought it would be around 4/5k a week.Happy with the signing just hope we aren't paying over the odds. falwheel 222
Great signing, I know other positions need strengthened, we need to wait until players are available before we can sign them though.Good young scottish goalkeeper

My point was simply, we won't have two goalkeepers in our squad that earn a combined 20k a week (or not far off if figures are to be believed) - Alexander will surely leave. Great to have options but pointless to be paying either Bell or Alexander the money they'd be on to sit on a division 2 bench
