Sponsorship Agreement with Blackthorn Cider

The Rangers International Football Club (AIM:RFC) today announced The Club's new shirt sponsor for the 2013/2014 season.

The deal will see the famous Blackthorn Cider brand feature on the Rangers strip for next season on conclusion of the current shirt sponsorship deal.

Blackthorn Cider and Rangers Football Club share ambitious plans for the future and this one year partnership will help both parties achieve this.

Rangers Chief Executive Charles Green said: "We are very pleased to have reached a sponsorship agreement that will see the Blackthorn Cider name on Rangers' strips next season.

"The arrangement is yet another example of leading brands wishing to be associated with Rangers and reflects the fact that the Club is one of football's great institutions. The deal we have reached is very much in keeping with our business plan and strategy of developing significant commercial partnerships for the benefit of the Club."

Blackthorn Cider has a track record of successful sports sponsorships and this will be the company's first partnership with a Scottish football club. The Blackthorn team is currently working with Rangers to develop activity around the partnership that will benefit the brand, the Club and its fans.

Paolo Mortarotti, Managing Director of The Shepton Mallet Cider Company, owners of Blackthorn Cider said: "The Rangers fans' reaction to the Club's recent troubles has been remarkable and we are immensely proud to partner with the Club. Blackthorn is a popular cider both in Scotland and across the UK and we believe this partnership with Rangers will help deliver our ambitious growth plans for the brand.

"We wish Rangers every success this season and look forward to supporting the Club as it continues its journey back to the top flight of Scottish football."

About Rangers International Football Club plc

The Rangers Football Club, formed in Scotland in 1872, is one of the world's most successful clubs, having won 54 League titles, 33 Scottish Cups, 27 League Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1972. The Club's loyal and sizeable supporter base, both in Scotland and around the world, enables the Club to boast one of the highest percentages of season ticket holders in the UK, with over 37,000 having been sold for the current season. Playing at the 50,987 seater Ibrox Stadium and benefitting from the world class 37 acre Murray Park training facility, the Club has been a dominant force in Scottish football for decades. This world class stadium, training infrastructure and a loyal and passionate global fanbase provide an excellent foundation for the Rangers Group.

Currently the Club is competing in Division 3 of the SFL, though it is the intention of the Directors and the manager for the Club to return to top level football as soon as possible. The history, facilities and ambition of the Club are such that the Club remains a desirable destination for foreign and domestic players alike. The first team squad is managed by Ally McCoist, the former Rangers forward, who remains the Club's all-time leading goal scorer.

only a 1 year sponsor.

maybe that's the best way to do it until we get back to the top and negotiate for better deals.

100%... No one knows what's happening with reconstruction etc so no point tying ourselves into a sponsorship deal we can better in a year or two...still glad it's all sorted!

Quite happy with this. A years contract isn't to bad either. Soon as we get near to the top i'd assume more offers for sponsership will be there with more money. Speaking of which, does anyone know how much we will be making from this deal? And the figures with the puma deal as well? Cheers.

I quite like the logo (as far as logos go) It could be quite large looking. What concerns me is that they will put a white patch behind it as black and blue does not contrast very well. Maybe they will change it to be white.
