Carsons Dog 9,878
Not to be outdone by The Telegraph today reporting us as a new club. When will they give up.http://www.telegraph...ence-fears.htmlJust over a fortnight ago SFL members voted by 23-6 in favour of mutating into the new Scottish Professional Football League alongside the top 12 clubs. However, that acceptance was conditional on the nine-strong SFL board being given comfort that due diligence has been carried out and that is now very much in doubt.Consequently, it is possible that the SFL board may now choose not to accept culpability by endorsing the motion and, instead, ask the 29 members – Rangers, as a new club, are only associate members and therefore not allowed to vote – to decide on the matter. It remains uncertain whether or not such a vote – if taken – would be constitutionally competent but, if and when it takes place, only eight dissenters would be required to see the amalgamation abandoned.Wylie and Bisset, the SFL’s accountants, claim they have been unable to fulfil the scope of due diligence as a result of the lack of detail provided by the SPL.Edit: Article pasted to avoid hitsWhat are they hiding? The press should be all over this. Muirheadbear 1,483
You're right English, there is no comparison. We got administrated and subsequently liquidated over an HMRC debt that was subsequently found NOT to be a debt!If we had been allowed to trade while the tribunal reached its conclusion then we would not have been subjected (allegedly) to a highly dubious business transaction between Lloyds and Craig Whyte (criminal investigation pending) and then subsequently Whyte raped the assets out of our accounts (again subject to criminal investigation) In summary we were unable to pay debts because the HMRC claimed they were owed somewhere around £100m which of course turned out to be not a debt. Alistair Johnston neatly described this as "the gorilla in the room". We were only 18m in debt when LLoyds got their money (like any bank will do - just ask Fairpak customers) and paying our way. If HMRC hadn't pursued us with the vigour they don't seem to be showing with certain premiership clubs who ran EBT's there would have been none of this. That's our beef!!! rossDas 1,071
The guy just does what he knows will annoy people and in return, keep him relevant.Clearly works a treat.Perhaps that plays its part, but Scottish football has lost all objectivity, and is still in the grip of anti-Rangers hysteria - regardless of facts. Even if we just ignore the rent-a-gobs, there is still the deluded mobs who want to have their fantasies validated by what they read in these tawdry rags; I expect this will continue for the foreseeable future, and the best thing we can do is to simply not buy their publications or click on links to their web pages. G.E.C. 18,953
The Celtic fans hate him and refer to him as 'Uncle Tom'. We accuse him of being a bitter Rangers hater. They guy's just a troll, apparently a very good one.Is that because of the Stokes article? ZZed 4,510
Tom English: Hearts and Rangers are no comparison (and credit also to the Rangers fans who worked tirelessly to try to pay off the entire football debt of their club). This bit must have stuck in his craw to say. Thanks for posting Pete. I don't want to give him any hits.
FlippinEck 3,716
Hearts have failed to pay tax a number of times. They have a recent payment plan of £500k for next 3 years which could be void if Hearts Newco (well done). They have also failed to pay their players a number of times. Even with all our troubles, we still paid our players and took the tax out of the wages, it was just that fanny Craig Whyte that dicked it around. And there in lies the problem, Tom English mentioned it, everything fell back to Craig Whyte, a man who the SFA passed as fit and proper but then, with knowledge that HMRC werent being paid, allowed him to carry on at Rangers unchallenged. Hand jiving to a non existent virgin. Raped and buggared by clergy. OUCH!Nightmares! I was going to say guilt, but these malcontents don't do guilt. Banged out of them at an early age by the local semenary, as there track record of heinous crimes against humanity bare testament to. You'd think he'd better spend his time going after the perpetrators of his erse! Heh, but wait a minute, I forgot, he is one of them, so let him remain in serious fucking pain!
