simplythebest 11,453
Only if you believe the Charles Green fronted takeover was a standard, everyday, transaction. No proper evidence to suggest it wasn't.

Zappa 358
Based on what evidence? It's just a personal opinion based on the sort of experience and expertise that he'll have on his CV. I think if someone completely neutral on the subject of Paul Murray was conducting interviews for our non-exec director positions, then Paul Murray would stand a very good chance of being a successful candidate. simplythebest 11,453
I've never said I like him though mate. I think he's probably a bit too divisive and I really wasn't impressed with the way he conducted himself at times last year during our administration. Having said that, I think some of the stick he takes on here is too harsh and ultimately if you put the negative issues aside, I think he's better suited for our club's board than the men currently on it.You know I also think Green comes in for too harsh stick in places, and you certainly don't agree. Even if he is better suited (really not sure what to believe there) why does it have to be him, is he really the best McColl and Blin can find? It just seems to me like a determination to take us back to the past, McClelland's apparent return makes it even more so seem that way. It's not that I really blame Paul Murray for David Murray's mismanagement, but he's had his chance with Rangers more than once, and as you've alluded to yourself never acted that gracefully concerning his failed attempts to buy us. If there's going to be change i'd so much rather it was totally fresh.

Does he have specialist knowledge or skills which the board is lacking ?Don't believe the lying fucks who are his fanclub who continually talk him up without providing one bit of evidence - just one - that he brings something positive to the party. Big Al 55 9,253
Its worrying how so many are fixated with how much money individuals have invested into Rangers, its irrelevant with regards to the board. I'm aware of no other company whereby the amount invested is used a a barometer to gauge an individual(s) credentials for successfully running a large company.Seems people have as much trouble distinguishing between that, Ally the manager and Ally the legend

Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
The Easdales will do what they can to gain as much power as possible, if things changed again further down they line then they would quite happily change sides again to further their interests. In fact I would bet that it's not as strong as either of these individuals when it comes to specifically being a board member at Rangers. And whilst I'm neutral on Paul Murray himself - I'm inclined to think that the shareholders who want him in place, very obviously think he'll bring something positive to the party. We'll see soon enough if they are right to support his appointment.
