I think rfc52's getting at the fact that barrie isn't out if the team as a result of a 35 year old which is what you're kind of implying in your original post. If you want to look at it big picture and look at the fact jig is playing and he's an old timer fair enough but it really comes down to is he the best player we have in that position, if he is he should play. Why should we play a young lad if he's not as good or isn't ready yet just to satisfy certain portions of the crowd. The best player should play regardless of age. Absolutely not. They need to prove to be to a certain standard before contention for a place, like Lewis Macleod has shown.
