Mansion 120
Does anyone think we will get a manager like him again? Im only 18 so can only reflect on his 9iar success via videos etc but watching him take over from PLG and get us to a european final and win us 3iar is truely remarkable. nemisis 358
What we really need is a manager like Jock Wallace.
JamieG54 812
I would take Walter back just now but he wouldn't touch us.
Redwhiteandblue 3,330
Rangers have historically had very very good men in charge. Less managers in over 142 years than a lot of clubs have had in the last 10 years. No reason why we wouldn't.
Wearethepeople72 1,847
I'd take him back in a minute but it'll never happen. McCoist will be our manager for the forseeable future, like it or not.

siddiqi_drinker 14,635
Too old, too retired and his missus would not let him. Besides it is time to look forward. We've had some great managers; Struth, Symon, Smith, Dickie, Waddell, Wallace, Souness -- not reason to think we will not see another great manager in the future. At the moment a 'Jock Wallace figure' is what is needed to deal with the players and the media. dummiesoot 16,119
Does anyone actually think our football would be any better to watch under Watty? Ally is a Walter clone with worse players, we would still be shite. Nah new fresh ideas needed not going backwards.
hammer93 15,137
Walters day has came and gone, let's move forward.
Elginloyal 4
I said no a few months back but I would take him back at the moment, even with ally staying too he could do with more mentoring. But as others have said, we don't have the money unfortunately.
bombaybadboy08 15,660
I don't think the OP is championing Walter's return, like some have thought.I doubt we will have anyone like him again, but you never know, we could have a Jig or Barry Ferguson in charge of us in 20 years time with the same aura/presence. loyalfollower 1,543
Yes we will but as for dominating like the 90's. No chance. Football goes round in faster cycles now but yeah I think we'll have many more successful managers

Bothwellbear 1,392
We need a manager that can bring through youth. A manager like Smith is not the man for that job.We as a club must bring through our own players to sell on top make any money. We will never have the money that we used to and can not compete. We need a thorough Scouting system that brings us the best youth players from around the world who know they will be able to progress with us and go onto EPL or whatever. We need a complete rethink of all of our playing staff, style of play and start being realistic. More than one tactic would be a bonus too.
