Bluepeter9 5,167
anyone who uses winning SFL3 and League One and "long unbeaten runs" as a defence of the manager is simply clutching at straws, anyone on this forum could have managed Rangers to winning those two Divisons with the resorces available to us that McCoist had, asfor "long unbeaten runs"...that IMO came to tthe detriment of the development of young players, the two part time leqgues were absolute gimmes, no one can deny that, so it was an opportunity to blood young players and actually stick with them, not the whole team, but it was an opportunity to advance 5 or 6 guys, that would no doubt have proved costly to any unbeaten record but losing league football in those past two years simply had zero consequence, that was the time to do it, the fact he didn't is a huge negative, you can't turn that into a positive because he went unbeaten. Ally could have finished last season with 12-15 points worse off now having the knowledge that he gave kids 25+ games, fans might have been annoyed that we lost so many points but I think thw vaat majority are clued up enough to see it for what it is, if the boys weren't going to be good enough for Rangera then these past two years were the time to find that out, the fact that he stuck with a tried and tested formula against plumbers and brickies and Asda workers speaks volumes...it also speaks volumes for anyone who considers this an achievementThat's the issue for me - no credit for what he 'has' done - only criticism for what he might have done! Every one that wants him out seems to easily discount any success he has had, the circumstances he has managed under and the good things he has dine! Smile 26,610
A win against a Premier League side yet people are still greeting!I was at both the other wins against Premier League sides but we won but were still awful against an average StJohnstone and Caley. Today we were better but still you can see our team struggle against weaker teams with better players.Lets not kid on today covers up for the way we have played under Ally.
