AyeReadyStu 70
About time he went. Fair play to him for doing the right thing, everyone and their dog could see this wasn't working out. He damn nearly plunged us back into admin with his transfer policy, and his wage demands were damn near unforgivable, Hope the rest of the backroom staff go with him, we need some new blood. BEARBUDA 12
Thank you ally for doing the honourable thing, what you done for the club in the past 3 years wont be forgotten. However the club wasnt moving forward and this is the best for the club and had to happen. It was taking its toll on him and I wish him well for the future. Personally I wanted it to work out for him when he took over but like most bears we knew it wasnt going to work out a long time ago. Thank you for doing the correct thing, Ally will always be a legend as a player. Em just a small matter of the game tonight tho?

trueblueal 2,117
I fully expect there will be a resounding chorus of Super Ally tonight and we will beat QOS
50ShadesofBlue 667
I hope to god it isn't McCall or Butcher. We need someone who has excellent tactical knowledge and can develop our youth. Like José Mourinho said midweek, if we dont use our youth then no point running an academy.
fraz1ross 445
He's still in charge tonight. This makes no sense.
Gandalf the Blue 1,384
We knew it had to happen, but still doesnt make it pleasant. Bittersweet doesnt cover it. Guy is a hero and will remain as so. Gutted it just never worked out for him.Another point -Terry Butcher has ruled himself out of the running for the managerial vacancy at his former club, Motherwell.Butcher asked to be taken out of consideration for the position and explained his reasons to the club.Is this a coincidence?. trueblueal 2,117
He hasn't left yet and might be here for the rest of the season. He's invoked the end of his rolling contract that's all
j1mgg 3,766
He has done the right thing, and will be I charge for tonight's game.Could be numerous things that have caused this, but it is weird considering his article in the paper today
AllyDawson72 213
Unbelievable what the man has been through the last few years and i'll never forget how he steadied the ship as best he could.Needs a very long break and i hope he comes back as ambassador at some point.Legend.Oh please get a grip. He had the honor of managing our great club making MILLIONS while making an absolute arse of it.He should have handed in his resignation after Raith Rovers. His legacy will take years to fix.Thank Fuck..if its true! Creampuff 22,628
Still in charge tonight? What the fuck sort of resignation is this?
The Godfather 72,083
So he's still here?WTF?Why is it never simple at this club
ElBufalo20 7,916
Been wanting him out for ages. Quite sad though the way it's all ended. Will always be a legend. Good luck Super Ally.
AyeReadyStu 70
BBC reporting the players have not yet been informed of McCoist offering his resignation. Surely as manager you'd tell them first unless something was not right in the dressing room...
Sparkle 53,687
Might be the right thing for the club, but I'm still sorry that it ends for him like this. Some of the comments on here are appalling. The man I regard as the last real Rangers man in the club is leaving. So no Ally, no Sandy, no Walter. We are a shadow of what we once were. Old No7. 795
Reading it as he's offered to go but in 12 months at the end of contract. If not the board need to pay him the 12 month salary! Catch 22 for board apart from AM as he gets money either way.
GWR1979 1,964
Just announced on SSN he will still be in charge tonight.

Clemdog 39,389
Why does it seem like McCoist is doing this to be pushed. He knows it's impossible for us to have a Manager who's announced he's leaving. jimmy millar
j1mgg 3,766
If what are the bbc are saying then the thanks to him is lost.He has only gave his 12mth notice and will be looking to see that out, or get a settlement.
The Godfather 72,083
Why still be in charge tonight ffs? That's fucking nuts, is this a ploy to get a possitive reaction from players and support?Never seen anything like it before! Clyde Valley 234
Odd timing. If they accept it then he has to go immediately even though they will have to pay him.Cannot see how they can do anything but accept it but you never know.Sad in a way but he should never have had the job in the first place.
