Wonder who the trialist was?

Aye dumbarton who out first team last season struggled against!

So many different factors, if it was even their first team. They have since lost their manager. And we were then managed by a clown. Half of their team were trialists as well. Not taking anything away from a fantastic result for our kids and Durrant. A clean sheet is extremely pleasing too. The pumpings by Celtic last season are still fresh in the minds, that is the gap we have to close at that level this season.

“I’m delighted. The first game of pre-season after 10 days of training is always a worry, but I thought the boys’ work-rate and application was excellent.

“They dominated possession as we asked them to do at the start of the game, and they adapted to the new system that the manager wants us to play.

“You could see there was a bit of a settling-in process, but once they got started and once they got going, the philosophy we’re trying to do now in terms of play worked, and we were able to sit back and enjoy watching them play.”

But despite the margin of victory, the Light Blues passed-up a number of other opportunities to add some gloss to the scoreline, and Durrant admits the addition of a striker to their ranks is a priority for him.

He continued: “We lost Ryan Hardie, so we’ve lost a lot of goals as he’s moved up to the first team. That’s excellent for the youth department, but we’ll look to get a forward who can score us goals.

“I like players to chip in from all areas though. Today we had Dylan Dykes, Darren Ramsay and Scott Roberts all score from midfield, so that was good for us.

Looks like MW likes Hardie.
