MARK WARBURTON wants to offer veteran Rangers stars Kenny Miller and Clint Hill new deals.

The experienced pair have only four months left on their contracts and SunSport can reveal Warbs is prepared to offer extensions to tie them down until the end of next season.

It’s understood both Miller, 37, and Hill, 38, are eager to open talks about signing until the summer of 2018. Negotiations will start as soon as the Ibrox board sanction the move.

Miller has been outstanding for Gers this season and arguably the team’s best player.

He is also Warbs’ most trusted and respected pro behind the scenes.

The former Scotland star plays a major part on and off the pitch and the Ibrox boss feels he’s earned a new contract.

Hill was initially seen as a stop-gap defender, but his recent displays have convinced Warburton to extend his stay.

Talks have NOT yet taken place with Gers potentially running the risk of losing the pair if they don’t start the ball rolling soon.

Hill has been tipped for a return to QPR with clubs in the MLS believed to be keeping an eye on Miller.

Warburton has spent this week in London as he tries to conclude deals to sign two players on loan.

While two players could be checking in at Ibrox, several fringe players look to be on their way out.

Michael O’Halloran could be set to go out on loan with a return to former club St Johnstone a possibility.

Matt Crooks could also be allowed to join another club until the end of the season.

TL:DR

  • Hill and Miller are wanting to open contract extension talks
  • O'halloran could be going on loan to St Johnstone
  • Crooks could be going to another club

Nothing against the two of them - they're two of the better players we have but I honestly think it might be a year too much for them (more-so Miller - although we've been saying that for a couple of years now, granted)

Good news possibly getting Crooks and O'Halloran out the door. Hopefully the start of many.

Extremely underwhelming. I appreciate experience and value in players with such experience but fuck me this is awful. Really really awful. If true of course. Never mind writing off £500k by sending MOH on loan. It's almost as if the manager is trying to get sacked. And rumours of loans, loans, loans.

Sooner he and the board are chased the better i am afraid. We are going nowhere under these people. Absolutely nowhere.

Ohalloran on loan would be a mistake.  He is a decent sub if used properly.

Absolutely weird as fuck move by Rangers and our manager .

Injuries to key players in next few months and will be crying out for him .

There is no ends to the gaffs by MW

And I see our ST will have to pay for any signings in Summer .

King .Gtf you miserable bastard

This rules out any significant investment in my eyes.

The smhellies are clode to signing a young ivory coast international for c. £3m and we are applying 2 sticking plasters to the spine of our team.

In summary, King has bluffed his way into the Blue Room - where are we going???
