I think he has changed the way he tries to hit the ball to like Ronaldo does when he takes a free kick but it's for every cross and that's why he over hits it. Should go back to doing what he was doing last year

I agree, he's improved under Caixinha; the novelty of a new manager and the determination to impress often brings out the best in players (Not applicable to a number of our squad, sadly).

However, let's not forget that when we actually had something to play for, he was often a disgrace. We've never, ever in my lifetime had a defender who switches-off at important times as often as him. I'm certain opposing managers highlight his awareness as one of our many weaknesses.

Long may his form continue, but suggesting he's a 6 or 7 every week is only applicable if we're ignoring the first 8 months of the season.

Sure he can get caught up the park at times, but his ability and bravery on the ball has created a number of important goals for us - see Filth away or even yesterday. Picks the ball up, and when some would punt it into the box or launch it up the park he takes on his man and creates.

Joke of a player.  . Thinks he is better than he is. Gets caught out of position so many times its hilarious to be honest with you. Takes free kicks hits.tha wall or over the bar. Gets torn apart inside out.  Looks lost . Get him to fuck .. wears a white wrist band like he thinks he is a superstar.  He neve worn it as far a I can recall during his first season.  Started to wart it when he thought he was a player

One of our better players. According to TheSPFLRadar on twitter the top performing full back in the league(only covers attacking stats really). Regardless his defending is better than folk like to admit. One on one he's excellent, however he could improve when he is required to tuck in.

Gets caught too far forward often and his positional awareness for a full back is shocking (see hearts away with muirhead scoring near identical goals). His play leading up to the goal on Sunday is what he is good at but hasn't done it enough this year. For me he's best as a wing back in a 5-3-2 so that the 3 central defenders do the actual defending.

If it was a straight choice between Tav to go or Hodson it would defo be Hodson.  Tav can be really good on the ball and has improved defensively.

Keep Tav. Instrumental In many of our goals. I think he has plenty improvement ahead of him and with more quality around him will only raise his game. A good centre back pairing would cover a lot of his flaws. His flaws are brutally exposed in part because our defence are pish.

Aye this fascination that Hodson is better than Tav is pretty stupid. Hodson has played well in games against Celtic because Tav has been there to help him out imo. The few times he's played himself down the right he's been average at best and been hopeless a few times. A decent back up player due to his versatility, but I'd have Tav over him most games and Him and Tav in the bigger matches

Cant agree at all. At all. Hodson isn't as flashy and attacking as Tav, but is a better player all round, a better defender and can get forward.

The lad has barely put a foot wrong, genuinely surprised people think he is 'rotten'.

Cannot agree on any of that. Hodson is a NI international, he dosent need a League 1 level player to help him out. Sorry, but that's just nonsense.

I have watched him most games this season and fail to see this average to hopeless player you state. He is a solid, unflashy player, who wont get flying as much as Tav, but is a better defender, rarely wasted a pass this season unlike Tav, has miles better positional sense.

I'd take him over Tav anyday. A better and more consistent player. I wouldn't have to worry about him the way I do about Tav, who can be great one game and awful the next.

Yes. But he is Int level, whereas Tav can only play for England if he plays on his X-box.

He's international level because Northern Ireland are pish. Their squad is littered with League 1 players and until he moved in the summer their number 1 goalie played for fucking Hamilton

Actually disagree.Think Tav has been better in these games because Hodson was there to help HIM out and cover his total lack of positional awareness.

Hodson isn't flashy but he is the better defender of the 2 and has managed to get himself into good positions and his name on the score sheet.The main reason I prefer him though is defence looks better balanced when he plays plus he bursts a gut to get back into position unlike jog along Tav.

That said I do think our defence are easy target due to the complete lack of options made available in front of them.Even the best defenders in the world would be exposed again and again with our so called midfielders in front of them!
