In all seriousness, I'm not going to dismiss that photograph until sure it's maybe (however unlikely) not associated with this.

'Rangers back appeal to bring home fishermen feared dead in Nancy Glen tragedy at tonight’s Aberdeen clash'.

It's an online article - the URL is just too long for posting.

Still working on this and awaiting some responses which should be definitive.

Almost for sure, there's no connection, however, this is not yet resolved and just in case...

Spent a good while trying to find some info on this pic

nothing much out there tho', I'm assuming it's same one that the author of 'The Greatest Ranger Ever?'  was referring to when he said:

“Apart from being a Rangers fan I’m also a big fan of Maryhill Juniors.

And where we sit in the Maryhill club there is a big photo of Meiklejohn.

He played for them for about six months. “They sold him to Rangers for £10 and a corrugated iron fence for their ground,

so they hang this photo and it has always been a source of interest.

“He is shaking hands with a referee but nobody knows when or where it was taken. I was looking through the archives one day just trying to find out when I started reading about him and it was clear he was a special player.
