And where we sit in the Maryhill club there is a big photo of Meiklejohn. He played for them for about six months. “They sold him to Rangers for £10 and a corrugated iron fence for their ground, so they hang this photo and it has always been a source of interest. “He is shaking hands with a referee but nobody knows when or where it was taken. I was looking through the archives one day just trying to find out when I started reading about him and it was clear he was a special player.
