The bomb squad - who's left?

Recommended Posts

Looks to me like the Club has updated its website today with a listing of the first team squad.     They've been ultra quick to add Kent to the list of forwards.

Interesting that they've kept Murphy's name in the first team squad.   That'd imply he might yet make a contribution this season.

No mention of Grezda though.      Is he now firmly rooted in the netherworld of development team football where as an international player he can only now get a game with the youngsters and those over-age players who can be selected for these games.   That's going to do his international career a whole power of good, and introduce a bit of a risk of a dissatisfied player in the development squad.     Looks like its been left to Murty to pick up the Grezda pieces.     Some piece of work from Allen too where it looks like he couldn't organise either a transfer or a loan deal for the player.     An expensive asset who is no longer an asset but an expensive liability - on the books until somehow, someday his contract can be ended or a transfer organised.      Nobody's winning out of this unsatisfactory arrangement - unless that is Grezda is just happy to take the money and do the minimum for it for as long as the Rangers money keeps rolling in.

I'd assume a few of their contracts will be due to end once their loans are done anyway?

Out of those mentioned in OP Holt, Rossiter, Alnwick and Herrera all expire at the end of season. Murphy contracted until ‘21 and Grezda until ‘22.

Grezda transfer was strange. Did anyone watch him play before we signed him. Did we give him a proper chance. How many games did he actually start. The fact we can’t even move him on for nothing even although he is a current international.

Nocunt did cos he was injured.

Grezda until 2022 is an absolute joke of a move from our side, didn't realise it was so long

How can we give a guy a 4 year contract when he was just coming back from a long term injury and we couldn't have seen much of him playing before that, terrible business

If we’d spent over £1m and gave him two years then he turned out amazing and fucked off for nothing then others would slag the board for a lack of foresight

Fuck knows whats happening with him, if we had loan bids and he’s not going to play then surely it’s better him going even if it was paying a small percentage.

Maybe want to keep him around given Jones injury?

Lol I know what you mean but we've been burned before and surely this is lesson now to play it a bit safe when it comes to players we don't really know

By all means take a punt on them but this cunt is just eating up a wage now until we can get him punted. Really don't think we'll ever see him again regardless of how long Jones is out for!

Grezda was replaced by Murty at halftime a couple of weeks ago for basically loitering on the pitch,Your last sentence answers the question I'd say.
