absolute waster - could and should have been a club legend firing us to 10 in a row and an italian internationalist but took the huff and ruined his career.  such a shame as probably the deadliest finisher we've ever had

There wasn’t a realistic chance he would have ever been an international footballer.

Depth up front for Italy in the 97-2000 period was frightening.

Not what the Italian manager intimated at the time he was banging them in for us.  I get what you're saying re their forwards, classy classy players but around that time when Italians needed a goal they'd turn to Inzaghi.  Negri was a much better finisher than Inzaghi, who was also terrible at get caught offside and considering the very nature of Italian football that is astounding.

True, their Euro 96 team (Which some considered the best team there, even thought they didn't win it) had Casiraghi, Chiesa, Del Piero (Alex Cleland is still at Ibrox park as we speak looking for the ball after his turn), Ravanelli, and Zola. They even left Vialli at home, the whole Italian team back then was frightening to look at.
