Clyde actually summed it completely up . Half the panel couldn’t remember the Robertson disallowed goal from the season before in the 3-3 game. Yet could go into detail on the cadette goal the following season.

We don’t make a song and dance about these things like them. We had a penalty overturned at hampden in the Jelavic final . They caused a refeee strike over the exact same thing in a game at tannadice.

The narrative at Dougie Dougie gate was. How can you give a penalty then change your mind. Imagine that happened in an old firm game. There would be a riot.

Well it happened. And there wasn't a riot

I know he's a fenian wank. But Tom English last season summed the taigs up perfectly. He said they don't want all the good calls. They want all the calls good and bad.

Its was also proved at Tannadice that it wasn't a penalty. So the change was correct.

But we had 3 weeks of 2 and 3 page spreads in the papers. 2 hours on the phone ins both snyde and real radio. Until eventually Dougie resigned

That and the ref strike changed things for the worse.

For the first time a credible challenge is at the door and they are scared. So it's back to the default even know they have benefited from ref descions more than anyone.

Just watch as things go south the conspiracy theorists will be back in force.

The Refs strike was the result of constant clarification from TLB.

Then after that season there was a new system set up to help. The Compliance officer. Meant to make it fair. Its only suited one club due to the way it works. Only incidences highlighted ever get punished. That's where trial by sportscene was created.

I remember well when it was first introduced. Gary Hooper blatently elbowed a Motherwell player in the Saturday lunchtime game. He looked over his shoulder and planted the guy straight on the jaw. I was in the boozer a d thought to myself. Let's see this Compliance system. There was no mention of it at all on Sportscene. The Sunday papers ignored it and it was forgotten.

2 weeks later Naismith elbowed a Motherwell player. And being honest there wasn't a lot in it. Sportscene were all over it and by the Sunday morning the papers had him banned. He was guilty. Sure enough by Monday the Compliance officer had issued a 2 game ban.

A lot was discussed after SR made his trial by Sportscene during an interview in the winter break. And the consensus was that he had a point and they would look at improvements for this season. A lot of pundits even said it wasn't fit for purpose and we should change it. But as of yet we have the same old shite that favours one club with its favourable media hiding some things and highlighting others.

Just as I'm typing this I'm loading the Peter and Roughie football show. Titled. Beaton could be ruled out of old firm. The cunts look like they are getting their own way again.

Wits the script wae tarriers goin on holiday and spending their time in Irish bars  fuckin weirdos.

Often thought that myself. There are Irish bars all over the world. Nothing more than a marketing ploy as cashing in on the bevy culture of the Irish. Also seen as the Irish have more fun. In many of these bars they are as Irish as the plastic paddy taigs themselves.

About 10 years ago I went to Kusadasi in Turkey. There were 20 bars on the main strip. 17 Irish bars. 1 Turkish 1 British and 1 Dutch. Fuck all Irish about any of the Irish bars even though the resort was riddled with Irish.

CLYDE boss Danny Lennon handed himself a second-half cameo as his side beat celtic Colts 3-1 in the Glasgow Cup.

The Bully Wee manager fielded a full-strength side for the competition opener before substituting himself on in the second-half.

Lennon, 50, deployed himself as a holding midfielder as he screened the back-four as the Hoops kids tried to mount a second half comeback.

But Lennon's decision to come on for the closing stages of the match didn't hinder Clyde as they dumped the celtic youth side.

Remember being in Albufera about 12years ago and meeting these 2 old dears who loved The Rangers.
The talk every morning was where you had went to eat the night before.
One morning they said they had been in some paddy howf and had a great burger,to which the missus turned to look at me "no much chance of me getting to taste them" :mutley:

Charles Manson absolutely murdered their midfield in that second half

Oh the deluded green n grey really do think they're a CL team ffs ,

lieswell appointed last week to a four man council  ,on CL reform , then they're mentioning  one of their favourites in "sporting integrity" again , also been working for "three years " to have  these reform  proposals ,ready for delivery

celtic have joined forces with Ajax and FC Copenhagen to be the architects of a new Champions League format that favours club, rather than country coefficients and slashes the number of big teams who are automatically guaranteed a Group Stage slot.

The Hoops missed out on the Group Stages for the second year in a row after they were surprisingly eliminated in the third qualifying round by Romanians Cluj.

But behind the scenes, the Scottish champions have been working with the Dutch and Danish clubs for over three years to propose a new look for Europe's premier competition, which has come in for heavy criticism in its current format.

Clubs from so-called smaller European nations like Scotland, Holland and Denmark are unhappy at being forced to play up to four rounds of qualifiers just to get into the financial gold mine of the Group Stages.

But they now want qualification to be through UEFA's club coefficients, rather than country coefficients - which often hamper their cause - from the past ten years, from 2024 onwards.

And they would reduce the number of automatic Group Stage participants from 26 to 20 teams and increase the number of qualifiers from six to 12.

FC Copenhagen's head of international cooperation, Daniel Rommedahl, explained: "We have been working for three years with celtic and Ajax to deliver these proposals.

This way there is no free entry for a Real Madrid or a Juventus if they do not deliver in their own leagues.

"UEFA feel they are uncertain whether the tournament will be attractive enough if all the big clubs are not involved in the Group Stages and they wonder whether it will provide enough TV money.

"But in this way, the tournament is turned into a financial discussion.

"We beleve sporting integrity needs to be met more than it does at present...which is why there should be no more Champions League free tickets."

Cluj boss Dan Petrescu blasts UEFA as his side and likes of celtic forced to play Champions League qualifiers

UEFA's own plans for a new format attracted widespread criticism after it was revealed that 24 of the 32 teams in the Groups would be guaranteed a spot, regardless of their positions in the national leagues.

There would also be four spots for promotion and relegation to and from the Europa League, effectively leaving just four places from clubs from other countries.

But celtic - who had chief executive Peter Lawwell appointed as one of four men by the European Club Association to sit on UEFA's Professional Football Strategy Council last week - are leading the way to change the shape of the competition.

Have uefa fined them yet again  ,for their greatest fans in the world throwing bottles at last weeks game yet ,or has lieswell already seen to that one

Been thinking the exact same thing. But there is more chance of me getting a blowjob from Ariana Grande after my work tonight than these plans coming to anything. The big league clubs ain't giving up their spaces and big sponsors ain't interested in the smaller countries even with disco lights

His disallowed goal against us in 96 or 97 is top of the bill on Clyde ssb tonight as the one decision you wish you could bring back for VAR they have been scarred beyond repair by the 1990’s 😂

If you think back to a save Goram made against Van Hooijdonk round about the same time, there was every chance that Goram would have saved it. He did, after all, make no effort to save it, having his hand up claiming for offside.
