The Widow's Son 399
Greatest header of a ball I've ever seen. Strong partnership with Ralph Brand. Still remember an old song you don't hear these days: "And the first one was scored by Millar, the second by Ralph Brand." falkirkNS 6,298
The first goal was scored by Jim Baxter And the 2nd by Ralphie Brand.. The 3rd, by Jimmy Millar...the finest in the land! So 3 to 1 for The Rangers That was the final score And you could not here, the whistle blow For the Sash my father wore! ronniescu, ayrshireranger, Bobby Hume and 1 other

bornabear 6,205
Great player for The Rangers, was an honour to have watched him play, along side my hero Ralph. RIP Jimmy, thank you for the memories. ronniescu, VanVeenRangers, Bears r us and 1 other
Bears r us 30,803
That is sad news, he was just coming to the end of his Rangers career when I started following our Club. JCDBigBear 10,825
Very sad news. A cracking player for us. The "old warhorse" will always be remembered at Ibrox. Bobby Hume, ronniescu, bornabear and 1 other

Loved that whole era even though I was pretty young. I think my first game was about 1958 and it might have been Max Murray or Don Kichenbrand who was playng centre forward rather than Jimmy. My first game was also around that time, still remember the line up; Niven,Shearer, Caldow, McColl, Young and Davi’s, Scott, Simpson, Murray, Baird and Hubbard. Baird was in for Kitchenbrand that game against Hearts. Later the Miller, Brand partnership was awesome along with the fantastic goal machine winger Davie Wilson. ronniescu, Bobby Hume, bornabear and 2 others
Bobby Hume 13,098
Even when you know it is inevitable .... whenever one of our favourites passes over ..... it still hurts. Like many we have had .... Jimmy was one of a kind .... from solid half back to prominent lethal striker he shone above many who have come and gone .... it was a pleasure to have witnessed his time at Ibrox. Deepest sympathies to his surviving family and friends. 🇬🇧 ForeverAndEver, Bears r us, docspiderman and 1 other

Vlad1 28
RIP Jimmy, a stalwart from the great Rangers team of the 60s. Modern footballers would be shaking like a French soldier if they were up against men like Millar and Brand.
KingKai 439
One of my favourites. Sad day. Jimmy scored 4 on my first trip to Ibrox, and funnily enough Ralphie scored 3 ! Dont get much better than that! bornabear

Thermopylae 15,286
I am old fashioned enough to believe that if you are a Rangers player you look to honour a deceased legend like Jimmy you don't follow up a minutes silence with a turgid performance like this

RIP I never seen Millar play, but was taught the song (by older guys that had), when I was going to games on a supporters bus in the 80s. I don't get to many games anymore, but watch most on TV. I reckon I have heard that song a few times this year (at away games I think). Or maybe a song with same tune? Has else heard it? Hopefully the song keeps going for generations to come. Ps. I missed the start of game today, so missed first 5 mins. Did it get sung then?

As we know this round of applause is an excuse/ cover up. There is nothing more respectful than taking a minute of silence to reflect on a life / lives. When it's at a football stadium it's all the more special. CharlieT and bluenoz
