Shambles from top to bottom

That's not true at all.

We had a clear structure and style of play under Gerrard. 2 attacking fullbacks, a midfield 3 where 2 would cover the full back positions when they went forward, 2 wingers who came inside and allowed the fullbacks to overlap and took up the space vacated by the midfield who dropped back.

There was a clear plan in place, something which we miss now.

And the main complaint about Gerrard was that he didn't have a plan b

And those complaints were correct. He had the same tactics for every game. To Gerrard's credif though, he signed good players that made his system far better.

We don't even have a Plan A right now.

But your point is contradictory.

Gerrard's first full season we dropped points left, right and centre because he stubbornly stuck to his style.

When Gerrard’s plan worked, it looked really good.

It was fucking shite a fair amount of the time though.

Agreed, but at least there was a plan. We're now just shite every time.

Now when I watch us I have no idea what we're trying to do, other than humping the ball down the pitch occasionally.

What we have now has become the norm. Nobody would have been surprised with that last night just as nobody will be surprised if St Johnstone put this shite out of the cup on Sat

Any contracts up at the end of this season ?

So what you're saying is a manager implemented a style, we gave him the time to do it and it worked?

That's exactly what we should be doing, the issue is none of our recent managers have implemented any sort of style to the team and there's been no clear vision of what the plan is.

Which other manager got 3 years to build his team up?

Gerrard took over after we had finished 3rd behind Aberdeen.

Gio took over after we had won the league and were 5 points ahead. Beale took over when we had finished 4 points behind and reached the EL final the season before.

The scenario's couldn't be more different. There was a huge gulf between us and celtic when Gerrard came in.

It’s insane that collectively we should all be on the same page that the board are a major problem. Instead we’ve got a split in the support about how much blame should we assign to a manager not even in the job a year handed a shite team full of somebody else’s mistakes.

This is why it won’t see the action it needs, which is a full on shark tossing meltdown to force a change.

No other manager anywhere who we could attract could get a tune out this mess for a full season and this level of support.

Clement took over us after years of sleeping at the wheel, so does he deserve the three years now?

Board gave the new contract knowing full well it would put him in the firing line and away from themselves.

We do have a plan though, play direct and get the ball into the box. Can say it’s shite or whatever but it’s still a plan.

Right ok that's the plan.

What about the gaping hole in the middle of the park and the same chance/goal being conceded game after game?

No recent manager has been allowed a clean slate to build his own squad, clement came in to a squad with players from Warburton, pedro, gerrard, gio, and beale era

Gerrard came in and quickly binned the guys from previous eras other than tav, jack and morelos and candieas to an extent

I’m not sure when the Ibrox building work was scheduled to finish but having been part of the construction industry for the best part of 25 years surely to fuck someone, regardless of shipment delays, must have factored in the very real possibility of not playing at Ibrox in August.
You’d  struggle to get an attic conversion completed in the close season let alone the remodelling of a football stand.

So….why the fuck did nobody recognise the importance of playing possibly 2 crucial home ties to qualify for the CL at Ibrox and establish a building program that started AFTER the qualifying stage was over. We could then have decanted to Hampden for a period of time rather shooting ourselves in the fucking foot by diluting the positive impact of Ibrox on Euro nights.

It’s maddening.

Clement took over us after years of sleeping at the wheel, so does he deserve the three years now?

He deserves time if we can see we're progressing and believe that in that sort of time frame he can beat the odds and win the league.

Unfortunately the sumner signings aren't inspiring, the style of play is erratic at best and shambolic at worst, the results are gash and we're probably moving further away from that mob rather than inching closer.

Giving someone 3 or 4 years isn't a guarantee of success though it worked with Gerrard, a novice. There needs to be progress and tbh there's minimal. At present it looks like we've extended the contract of a guy with a ropey plan A, no plan B, and who sees things in players few of us do whilst we keep losing.

I defend every manager getting transfer windows to male positive squad change. Clement is in his second and it's not looking good. I doubt he'll get 6 or 7 windows unless results improve significantly in the months ahead.

Does Clement walk if we get tanked at parkhead in a fortnight I think it's possible

Clement is not walking away from a significant payout. All the noises from him and the club are letting us know we have no expectation to win anything this season and this is now a long term project.
