Danny 9
The two of them are rather unfancied by Walter, but couldn't they be the solution to our striker dilemma? Buffel would be a terrific foil for Boyd. Buffel would do all the creation, the runs, the setups etc. And Boyd would do the finishing. That's a striking partership which could work. Buffel and PL worked fantastically when they were paired through the middle a couple of years ago. What about here?
chae9 0
dont think buffel will play again cause if he gets 100 appearances rangers have to pay his previous club £250,

Muff 245
The sooner Buffel is sold, the better.
Dillinger 0
The sooner Buffel is sold, the better. Agree with this. He's had his day and new approach is needed. Boyd? I think the team will have to be altered before Boyd gets a regular game.
SUPERCOOPER 115
Buffel will be moved on. If he couldn't get in the team with the fixture pile up he never will.
OlegKuznetsov 10,816
I think Buffel would work well with Boyd, Darcheville or Cousin. Even Naismith and Novo could be effective with him.
OlegKuznetsov 10,816
Buffel will be moved on. If he couldn't get in the team with the fixture pile up he never will. Precisely. If he never got a chance in May, he never will. Shame in my opinion since I really rated him.
rfc_no1fan 13
If Buffel and Boyd were half as good as some people think they are , they would be playing week in week out for Man Utd or Real Madrid. There not, they are even struggling to get into the Rangers team that is crying out for a decent striker and some attacking flair
Danny 9
The sooner Buffel is sold, the better. Agree with this. He's had his day and new approach is needed. You say new like he's had all season and not done it. He WOULD be a new approach - or do you think this season was all about attacking flair...? Boyd? I think the team will have to be altered before Boyd gets a regular game. Then we must hope Smith does it.
Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
No No No, Boyd needs another strong quick striker to play of and with, Buffel is not the answer, never mind how much I like him I don't think he is the answer for Rangers now or in the future. docspiderman 1,234
Buffel could have been an answer to partner Boyd, this season the only player who worked well with Boyd was Novo. No other combination with Boyd looked remotely effective. Buffel has been fit for 7 months and his appearances, both of them were in the minor competititions so it is more than obvious that Walter had no interest in playing him when it mattered and I do not think that will change. MaD CoW 3
Shame that we'll never know, Buffel was half the player some of the players that Smith chose to use ahead of! Also Buffel and Lovenkrands partnership was fantastic!
FlippinEck 3,708
tbh, buffel and boyd also worked well together, the two of them tore hearts to shred in the last game of the season and they did it many times before, peter lovenkrands had a great 6 months when kris boyd arrived but many people may forget that boyd was still our top scorer. RobertN 390
dont think buffel will play again cause if he gets 100 appearances rangers have to pay his previous club £250,000 Is this really the reason ? if he is not willing to pay that for a full international player proven to do ok in the spl he must really not like him or have a good idea that he wants to leave when his contract is up so not worth the outlay
Wreckedroy 33
dont think buffel will play again cause if he gets 100 appearances rangers have to pay his previous club £250,000 We've seen this reason given many times over the season, but where does it come from? <_< I have seen absolutely nothing official along these lines. The club have never said anything along these lines. £250,000 is a paltry sum these days, therefore I don't think it makes sense. If Walter rated Buffel at all he would play him. Gaffbear 4,096
Buffel is a talented football player.....WHY would Wattie play him???????????? He ain't six foot with the touch of a cart horse and pish in the air...so no chance Buffel will play for us again.
MrT 173
no sell buffel and get in a fresh new face, he was ok when he was fit but not great and not consistent we need a player who gives his all week in week out and can pass and score outside the box we lack goals from outside the box! plus be a bonus if he is a set piece specialist!! Frankie 505
I honestly don't know what some are going to do when Buffel leaves the club in a short while... Time to move on lads.

This is something that has always bothered me, most people on this forum are quick to defend Walters decision to not play Buffel, quoting his inconsistency as the reason behind the decision. Hemdani, Dailly, Clubfoot and even Darcheville to an extent have all been very inconsistent this season, with Hemdani being the biggest culprit. However everytime a big game came around the board was flooded with people wanting Hemdani in the side, saying that he "was due a big game" despite the fact he never provided one. Form, consistency and even talent had NO effect on Walter's team selections this season, he was more than happy to play poor, out of form players just so he could stick to his negative ways. It didnt matter that players like Dailly, Clubfoot and Hemdani were under performing on a regular basis, Smith was more worried about not changing his stale, negative system.
