Bresciano talks today?

Bresciano has been linked with a summer exit from Palermo for several weeks now, and over the weekend it was reported that Rangers wanted to sign the Australian.

The Scottish giants have money to spend following the recent sale of star man Carlos Cuellar to Aston Villa. The Gers have already spent some of this money on Portsmouth’s Pedro Mendes, but they need to strengthen further to make up for the loss of Cuellar, who was absolutely outstanding last season, being named Scottish Player of the Year.

Bresciano seems to fit the bill perfectly, and according to reports in Italy, Rangers and Palermo representatives will meet up tomorrow to begin negotiations concerning the transfer.

The 28-year-old has been at Palermo since arriving from Parma in 2006, but he has been associated with an exit repeatedly over the past 12 months or so. He was close to leaving for Great Britain last summer in order to join Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Manchester City, but the transfer fell through at the last minute.

Rangers are said to be prepared to pay €10m, and Palermo are likely to accept if this offer was tabled.

Bresciano has won 42 caps for the Australian national team, and will be on duty for his country in midweek in the friendly against South Africa.

Fcuk me!!

7 Strikers and now all these midfielders!!!!!

Good bit of business if we sign him!!!

Mendes = Flair and creative play

Aaron = Pace and set piece specialist

Davis = Attacking midfielder with skill

Bresciano = Midfield goalscorer

No more negativity in this rangers midfield!!!!!!

*falls off chair*

I'd suggest and agree with the sentiments that this article is old news. The signing of Edu should surely have put to bed any signing of Bresciano?

With Davis and Edu signing and another centre-half on the way, I'd be astonished if we signed Bresciano now as well.

Even in the unlikely event we do, it would not be for anywhere near €10million anyway as the player is in the last year of his contract.
