Pride in Glasgow Rangers

I wrote this a while ago but have updated the last few verses

In eighteen hundred seventy two

Young Moses had a dream

To form a Glasgow football team

The best the world had seen

This dream he had, he brought to life

With family, friends and strangers

The team that soon would become known

As the famous Glasgow Rangers.

From humble quiet beginnings

He built a winning side.

Based on sportsmanship and honor

And dignity and pride.

Throughout the years our management

Were a credit to the game

Above them all Mr William Struth

The man of greatest fame

All records fell before him

No team he would not face

Just words of quiet dignity

We welcome the chase.

And then in Barcelona

100 years gone bye

A European trophy

For John Greig to lift high

And then on to the nineties

Nine titles in a row

And then to 50 titles

A world’s first you know

A team proud to be British

And fight all anarchy

Proud to wave our union flag

Loyal to our Monarchy

Proud of our armed forces

Who defend us till the last

Not cowardly terrorist bastards

Killing civilians with their blasts

And now political correctness

Is bringing different fears

Banning songs we love to sing

Can bring this bear to tears.

Our protestant traditions

Being torn and cast aside

Our modern day leadership

Have found someplace to hide

At last our fans have had enough

The fight back has begun

No more to turn the other cheek

And pamper to the scum.

And those who say they hate us

They despise our Royal Throne

Show allegiance to a foreign flag

I ask why don’t you go home.

No more we’ll be the easy marks

For the media to lie and smear

The time has come the truth will out

Things like that are worth remembering. Also Mr Struth's words about "tolerance and sanity". Sadly an element of our fans seem too keen on bitterness and hostility. Too keen on attacks on our rivals involving highly sensitive subjects, rather than supporting our own team.
