markem 7,285
Story from the daily courageous:MARK WARBURTON will send Andy Murdoch out on loan before the end of the transfer window to give him a better chance of becoming more than a bit-part player at Rangers .The teenage midfielder emerged last season but has yet to feature this term and the manager believes he needs games, not a seat in the Ibrox dugout. He said: Young players need to step away to keep developing their careers. Everyone talks about the kudos of getting on the bench but how many minutes do you play? None. Or maybe three minutes. It doesnt do anything for you.Why are the Spurs guys here? They could stay with the Spurs first team and not bother but they wouldnt get better as players. So we have to send some of our young players out and make sure they get challenged appropriately.Thatll definitely be happening. Theres no point in players being comfortable in the Under-20s, they need to be out playing for three points, being challenged.Andy will definitely do that. Hes a talented player but he has to be better than Andy Halliday, Nicky Law, Jason Holt, Tom Walsh and Dean Shiels. Right now hes not at their level. So he has to go out and develop and become a better player for it.
superally07 387
This makes me a bit sad, I agree with what he's saying about how players need to go on loan however I beleive Murdoch has done more in a Rangers shirt than the 5 players mentioned. Dazzler 2,428
If he comes back a better player then it's all good. Better to play than sit on the bench.

Did you apply for the job? Do you trust Mr Warburton? Are you not prepared to accept his "clean sheet" philosophy? Take the blinkers off ffs. The Monk 3,207
Good decision if he's not in Warburtons current plans, I'd expect he'll be loaned to a decent team in this division anyway so will be better experience for him. I would also guess that Kelly will be loaned out and that Crawford will either be sold or just released.
plymouthranger 3,872
At least he's being given the chance. Much better solution for him and putting him in the reserves for 2 seasons, then complaining why he hasn't developed
Creampuff 22,628
Better for him to get a year of first team football. No point in staying here and playing 5-10 games this season.
thebluedoo 2,652
It seems to have worked for McKay and initially for Calum Gallagher, I am trusting Warburton on this I am sure he knows that Murdoch currently doesnt fit in his plans. Kind of feel for the wee guy but it doesnt have to be the end of his time at Rangers

Like RS who went to Falkirk. Be quite ironic if our loan players help turn over our title rivals (no laughing now) and Stubbs every other week. harlands plater 16,977
Murdoch looked good last season but that was in a worse team. I trust the manager's judgement.
Jamie0202 12,273
Sounds sensible if he's not going to play every week. I trust Warbuton and his judgement.Hopefully he bulks up a bit because he looked very lightweight last season.

barcodebear 85
I would imagine there would be a lot of competition for Murdoch. He wont be going to Hibs though.
sammy cox 664
Hes only a young man he still has plenty of time to develop even more and be part of the Rangers team in very near future.
OzGers 425
Interesting, was only thinking this morning that he might go out on loan.I'm all for it in light of recent signings providing it's at championship level or higher.Wouldn't mind Hardie doing the same
bluedart1952 1,350
This is definitely the best thing for Murdoch, it will help him to improve his abilities the more game time he gets, also he will hopefully come back a more polished performer achieving the standard of skill that MW/DW are wanting from him. So what you said cannot be 100% true. The only one of the 5 I would say he looks better than THIS SEASON is Shiels. But I am not a manager so I am prepared to trust Mr Warburton's judgement. Jimfanciesthedude 24,546
the thing is, with warburton sending guys on loan i actually have the belief that he is wanting them to develop with an intention of using them next season or wheneverunder ally you got the impression guys were punted on loan to simply remove them from his decision making, make it easier for ally to pick his mates
sandyinroyalblue 16,478
A bit like McGregor he was a honest performer in a team full of imposters but the bottom line is he probably wont feature much,so best for all concerned he plays regular football elsewhere. Turnberry18 3,204
I think he'll ask for Andy to play differently from what we had him doing last season, with possibly more of an attacking game. Andy scored a great goal in one of the matches at Murray Park the other week, and he is capable of playing further forward. Hopefully he comes back stronger and knowing the game a lot more. A loan move would benefit him and Rangers.

CoplandStandBear 995
The Spurs youths being signed are Warburton's way of saying ours aren't good enough. Shuffling out Gallagher and now Sinnamon and Murdoch on loan is telling us he doesn't rate them.
WilliamMunny 3,237
Agree with this. Eustace and Halliday are better options for where he plays. He will come back better for it.
