And So It Begins

The Scottish Professional Football League will wait to see what its match delegate has to say before deciding whether to take action against Rangers over sectarian chanting during Monday's clash with Hibernian.

The banned Billy Boys song could be clearly heard being sung by the home support during the Ladbrokes Championship fixture on Monday.

Now the club could face potential punishment if the SPFL's delegate decides to raise the matter when he submits his report on the match, won 4-2 by Mark Warburton's team.

A league spokesman said: "There was a delegate at the match and we will receive his report in due course. Until we see that report we are not in a position to comment."

In 2006, UEFA fined Rangers and also ordered the club to make a public announcement at all their home games pointing out the chanting of the Billy Boys was banned after it was heard during a Champions League clash with Villarreal.

I fucking loved the crowds singing yesterday. How can SFA fine a club when the club does all it can.

Maybe just maybe our fans who had stopped singing TBB have decided that all other teams singing songs deemed offensive seem to get an easy ride so have decided to stick two fingers up at the association.

Fuck all else to do that lot bar looking for excuses to punish us, rotten to the core.

It's amazing that songs glorifying child killers, shit smearers etc are fine but sing about being up to your knees in big trophies and its all a big stooshie

Fuck them all

We must defend our right to use this word or officially change it to celtic. The song must stay after yesterday best chant in football and they know it

You'll never get the club, anyone connected to it etc to give the go ahead for a song that's about being up to your knees in anyone's blood.

Every version has it tho which is why you could say that Rangers and its fans are being demonized.

Hearts are up to it in hibee blood or "fenian" when they play the taigs

Aye are up to their knees in Killie blood

Dundee arab blood

Sheff wed tell united fans to surrender or they'll die

And you could go on and on and on with the teams who do it

Scottish football saw a full house for a league match with a fantastic atmosphere. The top division is played out to half empty grounds every week. Jealousy and hatred of Rangers is killing Scottish football. They need to think carefully about this and stop pandering to bigoted agenda driven journalists.

I watched the tarriers hearts game the other day in work, plenty of chants in support of terrorism from a small section in the roseburn, nothing mentioned in any media at all. I couldn't honestly give a fuck anyway. Who the fuck gets offended by a song?

It sounds like someone has complained and that is the reply.

Probably some idiot watching TV and took faux offence! It makes my blood boil!

I wish they would just leave us alone. No one has ever been physically hurt by a song. Sticks and stones and all that!
