Rangers fear that Jelavic, who has already played for Rapid in European competition this season, will be ineligible to play for the Glasgow club in the Champions League if his former employers progress to the group stages of the Europa League.

However, a Uefa source has told BBC Scotland that the Croatia striker will not be cup-tied, no matter which side prevails after next week's second leg at Villa Park

Might be a good thing. It means we will have a player dedicated to thumping the SPL.

Also keeps Beattie happy I am sure.

It's a fair point.

But when you spend £4m+ on a player, we need him on the field when it matters...vs the tinks and in the CL.
