I know we are mate but what I would say is that he does contribute to a  lot of goals for us either with direct assists or helping getting us into attacking positions. He does need to step up though I agree with that but let's not go OTT in our criticism of him.

As I said last night, I’d give the armband to Jack, the penalties to Morelos/Defoe, keep him in the team and tell him to get his head down and concentrate on playing football.

That's not a bad idea. I like Tav but I think there players with better leadership qualities in the squad than he has and Jack fits that bill. However you do run the risk of upsetting  the dressing room if you change captain mid season. It's a double edged sword.

I agree but that’s where the man-management comes in. It would have to be clear he’s not being “stripped” of the captaincy, and that it’s for his benefit. I think it would do him the world of good, the weight of the armband might be too much for him. Plus it’s got Jack’s name written all over it, so we might as well do it sooner rather than later if they’re both in the manager’s long term plans.

As for Morelos, he just doesn't have the ability or the mentality to be a Rangers player. Sure he's a trier, but that is nowhere near what we need. We need a clinical striker who has ring awareness and he will never have it. 

Sadly for Wes, his time is up. He gives me the fear, so fuck knows what he gives the defenders right in front of  him, because it certainly isn't confidence.

We now have King for the long term by the look of things, so he really needs to have the vision to be able to see that persisting in what is obvious mediocrity will only end up costing him his erse and his fortune. Time has come for him to get off the fence and go for that title, bringing in players of the quality that can take this title, as many of this lot are just not it.

I am  also convinced of the same about Morelos, as doesn't have the ability and cannot be trusted. TBH the two of them looked pathetic figures out there today. I'm not expecting anything from the scum game, but if we are to lose, the manner of it will be important and with these two, I wouldn't trust either of them behind me.

Happy enough with the result and I do suspect Murty has built bridges, as the team certainly put in the effort and a much more positive energy out there today and then there was that goal celebration. That performance was much better than I expected and should have resulted in more goals for the effort.

Fucking hell man, you really don’t pay attention to what is being said, do you?

1.

i never once said Flanagan wasn’t our back up left back, did I?  I said he’s a right back who can play left back and has been our left back.

2.

Of course ‘better defensively’ and ‘better defender’ means the same thing. I never said that either so Christ knows where that’s come from. I said Flanagan is the better defender but once you take what they both  offer going forward, Tav is the better full back.

We all know these days a full back isn’t just about defending.  If it was Tav would be nowhere near that team.

So, just to make it crystal clear,  I am stating:

1. Flanagan is a better at defending, and therefore a better defender than Tavernier.

2. Flanagan is a right footed defender who started playing for Liverpool’s first team and England U21s as a  right back and is therefore inherently a right back.

I am not staying:

1.  Flanagan should replace Tavernier.

2. That Flanagan is a better footballer, or 

3. That Flanagan is not our left back  back up plan.

As for Gerrard, if you asked him if Flanagan was a right or left back he’d probably say ‘both’.
