Wait hold on, the reason i didnt include his assist for Wrights goal is because he fluffed his header, it was pure luck that it landed at wrights feet and he was able to finish, 
But again stats aren't everything as i was told on here in the summer while arguing that hagi would be a bigger loss than aribo, in the malmo ties and united game tav was dung, no it wasnt down to strikers missing hundreds of gilt edged chances, it was tav and barisic's crossing that was at best, abysmal, 
Tav hasn't played well in the last 3 games he played, not just stats wise, but when you watch him, hardly ever goes by the man, slow and ponderous in his link up and build up play, its poor form because we knoe he can do all the things that patterson did on friday night, but right now he isnt, 
How many games do we give him and his poor form, while a confident, flying right back sits on the bench, all this bollocks about the captain cant be dropped blah blah, nonsense, if he's playing shite and there's a better form replacement then so be it,

We wouldn't cope with them playing like that going forward with how we are currently, hard for me to say that.

Can understand if he was dropped and the player or players that replaced him were outstanding, but until last season goldson had a clanger in him every game, worrall was utter dug shit, and edmundson was in the same boat as katic in terms of being fucked about
Ive always said a back 4 needs consistency, and allow players making the odd mistake to play through it, it allows both that player and the team mates to learn and pre empt anything that can and maybe will go wrong
Poor form is one thing, having a jack simpson-esq 90min game 3 or 4 times in a row is droppable until the poor form is worked out and worked on, but one simple mistake shouldn't be cause for the throwing under the bus that gerrard did, especially as tav and goldson one period sold more jerseys than castore and not once did gerrard think to bin they two

He’s started the season poorly that’s a fact. He should be nowhere near the starting 11 until he fully commits to the club. 

Gerrard has never liked the guy for whatever reason. Even when he put a few good games together he dropped him and publicly criticised him in an interview.
Guy is a better player than Edmundson , Simpson and Balogen , but if you are not one or Gerrards buddies you are out on yer arse.......

We could say he knows best, but he has brought in many a dud to us also and predisposed to playing favourites. Katic was treated badly for some of his errors, whilst others could do no wrong, despite their catalogue of errors.  Disappointing.

Helander & Simpson are left sided CB’s.
Goldson, Balogen & Katic are right-sided CB’s. As things stand, both Goldson & Balogen are out of contract at the end of this season.
Think the manager and the DoF need to have a wee think about this

Bassey on fire!!!
I just find him and Patterson exciting to watch and along with Hagi, Wright, Roofe, add so much to our game. No ponderous shit with that crew. Their energy levels alone are adding to our game. Throw in their ability and what's not to like?
We done our thing last season and it worked, whilst the scum imploded. However, resting on past glories won't win us anything as we've seen. the format always needs freshened if we are to move forward and improve.
Most of the regular starters played a number of games way beyond the call as the Gaffer persisted in using pretty much the same starting line up. I think some just need a break both physically and mentally from it, as we have looked so stale. Just need to get them hungry again.
Whilst the league remains the priority, we have to add to that, so we are lucky to have such worthy replacements for the heroes of last season. 

What did patterson do wrong last night to lose his place next thursday? Tav has contributed nothing since setting up hagi with the freekick against livi, in a system that is based around the fullbacks being key to our creativity, thats a terrible stat
Patterson played exceptionally well last night, defensively and offensively, arguably he was in the box more times than tav this season, bit of luck he sets up at least a goal, but his link up play, his intensity, pace and workrate all top notch last night, defo nothing reasoned to drop him

Hagi best in a more central role and wasted out wide. He should be either in a number 10 role or as an attacking midfielder.

Nothing that Bassey or Patterson did last night suggests that they should be dropped for Tav and Barisic. Frankly that pair have had a poor start to the season and should be made to fight to get their spot back. That may just be the kick up the arse that they need.

I'll be surprised if the gaffer doesn't have the usual favourites back in and we revert to the usual controlled ponderous shite, which at this time we haven't even been doing that well.
He may start with Hagi, but if the usual suspects are back in, they will only stifle him, as the movement will be shite and back to the 5 yard side pass to the closest player as the oppo stand yawning in their ten man defence waiting on us coming forward.
Or indeed, the gaffer learns the lesson.

He has the vision and the technical ability that no other in our team possesses.
Last night he was key to our varied play and particularly giving us the cutting edge through the middle which we are devoid of when he doesn't play.
Now a more commanding player, taking responsibility and dictating play. There is no equal in the team.

Barisic has talent, but the truth of the matter is, he's a poor defender and of late, lost his spine going forward, not his fitness and that will take some time to get back.
Bassey is a no brainer.

Bornas best crosses have come from him entering the pitch 

It is always difficult to judge when we are playing such a poor team, but I certainly agree the pace and desire was much better, and good goals.
I thought Bassey played himself into the team on Thursday, I really like Borna but he has been poor so far this season so I believe he should be on the bench. Do I think Stevie will do that, I doubt it but hope I am wrong. 
  

That may be a part of it for some.
I just don't think he's reliable. For me he's not a steady player having an atypical bad patch this season, he's a unreliable player who had an atypical good patch last season.

Think people forget this 
Both Bassey and Paterson are gems imo 

Barasuc defensive is our worst offender for being caught out in behind, 9 times out if 10 in a one on one, the opposition cross makes it into our 6 yard box.
Until he finds his major and grows some aggression, fighting mentality then it's basseys Jersey.
