I'am absolutely cut up & devastated and no words can describe how I am feeling right now. Ben was my lifelong best friend, we have been through everything together - he was a brother to me. I have more memories with him than I do anybody else, from going to Ibrox together every second week and thousands more - memories I will now cherish for the rest of my life.
Reading the posts in this thread, people who did & did not know him personally sharing their kind words, its the only thing that has made me smile in the last 48hrs. He was a great guy and one of a kind and that goes to show.
Sleep easy my mate, I'll always miss you ❤️
 
 

I’ve tried typing something a dozen times and then abandoned it and deleted it. I’m absolutely broken at this news. 
Ben was such a caring, thoughtful, and profoundly daft guy - and getting to know him over the last few years has been a genuine pleasure. My life was richer for having him in it.
Don’t take your tomorrows for granted, we never know how many we have around the corner. Check up on your people, and make sure they know how much they mean to you.
Rest easy, Ben. See you in another life brother.

Terrible news to get last night tbh.
at least now his heads at peace but feel devastated for his family and loved ones who will be left wondering what else they could’ve done, but once the head gets that way it’s hard as fuck to get out of it.
his last post on here was ironically offering support to another member who was struggling which shows the measure of the boy.
@psb07158or any of the other admin, if there are any plans for a just giving or whatever then keep us updated and we can either use it to provide support for his family or a decent sized donation to mental health charities

I’m beyond devastated at this news. A great poster, a great Ranger and above all else, just an all round great guy. What a miss you are going to be, Ben. 💙🫡
 
 

On paper - the best we could realistically appoint.
He has won things as a manager and had playing career worthy of some respect - again having won multiple titles and cups. I have no concern that the guy knows how to win.
But........ my concern is how much - and how quickly - he will get it and how he will cope with the goldfish bowl.
The way the game is now in Scotland you need to be winning ~80% of domestic games and that is not something he will have experience of having to do. A 50-70% win rate won't be good enough. It's a skill in its own being able to do that.
If he can navigate that I'm sure he is plenty good enough as a coach.
Time will tell. Plenty of good managers wouldn't be able to do it up here due to the demand of win every game. As said it's a skill.
