Before the match the manager highlighted Flanagan was in to do a job on their best player. 
Ivan was subbed on the hour mark after, barring one shocking offside decision, contributing absolutely nothing. The whole team was excellent tonight, but I thought Flanagan did a great job down that side. He linked up well with Kent all night, especially second half. 
Good decision from Gerrard to play him and a great performance from him.

Me too. If we’d avoided defeat there then I’d be in no doubt that we are winning this league. As it is, we have to wait til December to see if we really can do it, but I’m absolutely confident we’ll do them at home.
The boss has said it himself, we have got to stop showing teams too much respect, particularly in the first half. We have to get it in our heads that we are a good side, from the first whistle, and play our own game.

Probably the position which suits his attributes best, his pace really helped stretch teams. It was strange that Murty ended up dropping him deeper into the 10 role where I don't think he had the footballing intelligence to really make as much of an impact.
