Totally agree about Ojo tonight, his lack of big game experience was there for all to see, he will be better for that tonight, he has only played something like 50 senior games in his career so far and none as important as that.

Thanks for clearing up, pretty disappointing and must be challenging for young players making the choice as would imagine a fair amount of different pressures would be put on individuals 👍🏻
The vast majority of young Catholics do opt for NI, but you will get some who are from a more Republican background who don't want to play for NI, which is fair enough, its the lads who use the NI system right up to u21 level and then switch that do my head in.

The paragraphed version. 😀
QuoteAT 36, Jermain Defoe has plenty of experiences and decisions to look back on. When it comes to Rangers, his only regret is that he didn’t make the move long before he put pen-to-paper on a deal at Ibrox.
Defoe is in the twilight of his career but there is a twinkle in his eye when he talks about working under Steven Gerrard in Light Blue. Having joined from Bournemouth in January, he is now looking forward to his first full season in Scotland.
That switch will probably prove to be the last that Defoe makes. It is one he has never regretted committing himself to as his former team-mates look across the border with envy.
“I wish I had come here three years ago,” Defoe said. “It’s a special place to be honest. I know players say that but I’m not saying that because I have to say it. Even with the new signings, I speak with them every day and ask them if they are enjoying it and all the new signings can’t believe it.
“It’s like ‘wow’, it’s a special place to play football. Even the game the other night, midweek, the tie all but done, and it was unbelievable to draw that level of support. You’ve got to enjoy every day, embrace it, I enjoy training every day, every game . It’s a special football club.
“Whether you are playing away at home or in Europe, there is that expectation and demand from the fans, which is a good thing.
“I have had a lot of players that I have played with who have messaged me saying they want to come. I’m not mentioning any names but, seriously, I have had a lot of messages saying ‘speak to the manager’ because they can see that I have really enjoyed it.”
His time with the likes of West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur saw Defoe make his name at the top of the English game. But it is in Scotland where he has the chance to earn the medals that are missing from his CV.
He was left empty-handed at the end of last term but he is encouraged and enthused heading into the new Premiership campaign.
Defoe said: “I always knew Rangers were a massive football club, even as a kid I always used to speak about Ally McCoist. I never thought I would be playing up here. I had my time at Tottenham and then went to the MLS and thought I’d probably finish over there and then returned to Sunderland and Bournemouth.
“Then I got the call to come here. It was an easy decision to be honest. I spoke to the manager and said to my agent, just get it done because I want to come and experience this, I want to play with the added pressure of knowing you’re with such a big club and have to win every game, home, away or in Europe.
“There is expectation and demand from the fans. It’s a good thing and I’ve had a lot of my ex team-mates, guys I’ve played with who have messaged me and want to come here too. I’m not mentioning any names but, seriously, I’ve had a lot of messages from people asking me to speak to the manager because they can see I’ve really enjoyed it.”
If Rangers can step forward once again, there could be plenty more for Defoe to savour in the coming months. The title is in their sights.
Defoe said: “It’s funny. Even from that first day of pre-season when we came back, everyone was speaking about it. There were encouraging signs in the game against celtic, the way we dominated.
“Even though it was last season, playing in that game felt quite comfortable. They are a top team of course, but I just felt like during that game they sort of ran out of ideas. We really showed people that there is a lot of potential there.
“I just hope that the lads understand and realise that they are actually a good team, especially with the new signings coming in.
“There are some quality signings. I feel like we are improving, the team look fit. Everyone worked so hard pre-season. Everyone is hungry. It’s a massive year for us.”
Before Rangers begin their Premiership title bid, they have business to take care of in the Europa League. There are mixed memories for Defoe in Euro action.
“I remember a massive disappointment after the World Cup in 2010 when I came back and injured my ankle ligaments,” Defoe said.
“”It kept me out of the group stage of the Champions League when Gareth Bale was on fire. That was hard because I had played all the games the season before and so to miss out the Champions League through injury was tough. Inter - Gareth scored a hat-trick, it was tough because I wanted to play.
“European games are different, under the lights, the atmosphere is always good, playing against the top teams. They are special nights and the ones you’ll remember when you stop playing.” -
Klopp is under contract to 2022 and the club want him to sign a 3 year extension or even longer if he wants it, preliminary talks have been held with his agent. There is every chance the Liverpool job might not be available till 2025 at the earliest.

No harm to TNS but why them out of all the teams out there? Basically TNS are on par with the top clubs in the Scottish Juniors, why not spread some love around by playing a game at the home of some of the more sympathetic Junior clubs, give them a nice wee financial boost with a full house?
TNS are far better than teams in the Scottish Juniors, they would be the equivalent of a bottom of the table Championship side or top of the table League 1 side and their players mostly wouldn't give a shit about the Old Firm so wouldn't be like most Scottish teams that would have at least a tarrier or two in them who would be out to hurt our players.

I heard a grass pitch was actually cheaper to install. But they chose astroturf.
It is, but Killie couldn't use it as a training ground like they currently do. Thats one of the main reasons that they have no interest in changing to a grass pitch as they would then have to build a training ground and where are they going to find a minimum of £5-10 million to fund it.

Delighted Flanno has been cleared, as for Barry Ferguson he can go fuck himself with his shitty article having a go at the club for appealing it. Most of our ex-players involved with the media are a disgrace, happy to slag off the club for to earn a few quid from a newspaper, no doubt they still have their hand out for freebie tickets from the club when the big games come around.

Absolute rubbish , that type of manager still exists and dont take any shit from prima donnas.
Gerrard should have been in there like a fuckin rocket at full time and gave them both barrels. Thats his problem the guy is far to soft , how many times is Morelos going to make him look like a mug , that guy tonight was a fuckin disgrace to the jersey and its happening more as the weeks go on and the manager does fuck all to sort it.
At what successful club is there that type of manager? the PL top 6 has Sarri, Emery, Klopp, Pochetino, Solskjaer & Guardiola, not one of them will go into a changing room and start smashing shit, or calling the players all the names under the sun, Real Madrid? Barcelona? Bayern Munich? Juventus? nope. The only place you will get the odd manager who acts that way is in the lower leagues. The game has changed and its sad because a right good bollocking and smashing a few cups is exactly whats needed for some of them.

Guy doesnt have the bottle for it , Smith or Souness would slaughter that team and Morelos especially.
Hes just said hes angry and is staying away from the players !
The game has moved on from those days, if Souness or Smith went into a changing room nowadays and acted like that the players would simply just down tools and eventually get him sacked. The days of going nuts at players are over and thats why Gerrard stayed away from the players as he would have completely lost it.

It will depend on two things; What Kent wants and who comes in for him. If Kent makes it clear he wants to stay here then that would force Liverpools hand a little. If a deal is to happen I don't see it being done until the end of pre-season. From the Liverpool point of view i would imagine they would hope to get him out on loan to a PL team which would increase his value for a potential sale the following summer, plans were supposedly in place to loan Harry Wilson to Leicester next season to see how he performs as PL level and to raise his value but with Brenda now there the plug has been pulled on it.

How can they prove he wasn't injured though? They can't. The rule is also daft that he can't play 5 days later as he supposedly can't be recovered, I'm sure Boyce played against Bosnia on Monday as I heard his name when I watched a bit of it. So Boyce can recover in a couple of day's but Lafferty can't? He should just retire from international football if they proceed with this.
Very simply because Rangers informed the IFA he was fit and to make matters worse for Lafferty he came off the bench for 3 minutes on Sunday in a game that was dead, do you honestly think Rangers would have risked him playing if he was carrying a bad injury?
The achilles issue he has had apparently from September and has been playing with it as it doesn't bother him too much, now if he had decided that he wanted to use the international break to rest it, then pull out of the squad when the club is informed of his inclusion or when the squad is publically released by the IFA.
If he wants to retire then do that, then everyone knows were they stand.

Shutup man if he doesn’t want to play then so what? You told is Jon Flanagan is absolutely shite anol so your opinions have experience of being pish.
Then bloody retire and don't mess people about.
These were my comments about Flanagan, i don't see anything in there that is pish.
QuoteThere was never any chance of him becoming a future captain, the only people who would ever have said that would have been people who would like a local lad being captain (and he was the only local left at the club), no doubt also the same people who nicknamed him the Scouse Cafu lol. He was out of his depth at PL, since that he picked up a really bad injury which kept him out for about 18 months and he has struggled since. I have posted about his negatives, well i'll give you his positives, apparently a great lad in the changing rooms a real joker in the pack, good for team morale etc and on the pitch a very hard tackler, he will never shy away from a tackle. I really just can't see how he would fit in, he has no pace and is poor going forward which i would have thought that is something we would need from our fullbacks etc when we face so many teams who sit deep and invite us on to them.
QuoteIn terms of what you expect from a modern full back then yes i rate Tav and John as better than him, he is nowhere near as good as either of them going forward, his deliveries into the box from out wide wouldn't be as good either, both Tav and John would have more pace than him as well. If you want to play him as a purely defensive right back not pushing him to far up the pitch then he could maybe do a job as he loves to tackle and is one of those old fashioned full backs who likes to hit a winger with an early hard tackle and see what he is made off. I could also maybe see him being used to see out close games doubling up with Tav in front of him.
QuoteThe early form thing is a complete myth, when he first broke into the first team he was awful but most didn't hold it against him as he was very young, he then disappeared out of the squad for about a year or so with injuries, he then got fit and after a few defensive injuries he got his chance in the team, he performed better than his first spell in the team but still nowhere near good enough for the PL, that was the season Liverpool finished 2nd, this was his best spell in the team but he still finished that season as the most dribbled past fullback in the PL.
If you had've asked me which Liverpool player I would not like to see at Rangers he would have been second on my list only Conor Randall would have been ahead of him. I'll try to end my post on a positive note, two things he will bring to the squad, hard tackling; he loves a tackle and will never shy out of a 50-50 and he is supposed to be a real character in the changing room, that is one of the main reasons he got to hang around Liverpool so long.

They're clearly raging they lost both games
No chance they do this had they won them. Bitter.
Not true, Michael O'Neill has finally run out of patience with him, he has had more chances with NI and continues to act the dick, he knew what he was doing pulling out of the squad at midnight, knowing that the NI doctor wouldn't get a chance to access his "injury", he left O'Neill right in the shit with Washington and Boyce injured for the Austria game. I have no sympathy for him the IFA are right to invoke the 5 day rule. If he wants to retire from NI duty then do that rather than make up injuries to get out of playing.

We can happily debate about Katic vs Worrall all day long, but isn't it great to be in this position, last season we couldn't have made a decent defender out of all of them put together, Cardoso, Alves, Bates & Martin, some serious shite was cleared out this summer.

I actually watched the Preston v Wigan game today, saying he was shite was being kind to him, the huge ego is still there, thinking he is Messi when on the ball and doing nothing with it, i had to laugh at how angry the Wigan fans were getting with him, three times Wigan broke with him on the ball in a 3v2 situation and the three times he played a pass straight to a Preston defender, thanks for the few million Wigan.

Possibly, but the point I'm making is that premier league young players go for a fair bit more than I'd imagine we'd pay.
I'd like to think we would get them both for a few million though.
You are correct, i'll list a few players of similar status that Liverpool have sold over the last few seasons
Brad Smith - Bournemouth - £3 million + another £3 million in add-ons
Kev Stewart - Hull - £4.5 million + another £3.5 million in add-ons
Andre Wisdom - Derby - £2 million + another £2.5 million in add-ons
Jerome Sinclair - Watford - £4 million
Sergi Canós - Norwich City - £2.5 million + another £1.5 million in add-ons
I don't see Ejaria or Kent getting close to the Liverpool team next season, if they were available for sale the biggest problem could be English clubs coming in with big money bids which we couldn't match. If Liverpool are prepared to work with Rangers because of the Gerrard factor you could see a deal worked out with maybe significant add-ons, a high sell on clause percentage or a buy back clause which is something Liverpool like to normally include in deals for youner players.

Always wondered why the tarriers have double the amount of followers on Twitter and Facebook than us considering they are nowhere near as big as they think. Someone mentioned they bought a lot of followers, not sure how that is possible but apparently that’s the reason. We both have the same amount of subscribers to our YouTube channels, round about 70k.
If Rangers or the scum were ever to get into the EPL then we’d be up there with United and Liverpool of that I’m sure due to the exposure to Asian markets.
One main reason - playing in the Champions League, they picked up huge numbers of followers from other teams they played in the group stages, a large number of whom never unfollowed them, i seen the same thing happen when Liverpool were out of the Champions League for many seasons and other EPL Champions League teams followers were growing at a far faster rate and when you look at these new followers they were fans of other teams.

Vastly experienced player who is a good communicator and is strong in the air, i wouldn't worry to much about him being 38, he started playing football alot later than most and doesn't have the same wear and tear that a normal 38 year old would have. When Pulis was at WBA he described him as a fitness freak who could easily play into his 40's, his fitness numbers were that of an early 30's player rather than that of a late 30's player. A good signing as a backup.
