  1. I might be wrong but I think it's reported he got a £1m plus bonus for keeping palace in the premier league added to the kind of wages he wants & given the clubs financial position his probable demands make him a pipe dream surely ? That's not to downplay the obvious attractions of the club itself but a side that's not in the top flight and can't get close to his wage demands would make it seem so unlikely to me especially when the first club to sack its manager in the prem will probably be throwing similar fortunes at him .
  2. In England For serious offences , the only other way is if the crown present an argument for jury imtimidation or 'knobbling' being a serious risk which I don't think is relevant in this case . I lack confidence in much of the legal system as a whole but once a matter gets before a court I think we are in good hands. Whyte is going to be on a world of pain here .
  3. In a case of this size In England the jury pool (which would perhaps be two or three times the usual size ( will be given a series of questions by the judge , agreed with defence and prosecution , and various answers at his discretion my mean they're excused. So it'll be say "do you or any of your family work or have worked at the club or Ticketus ?" Or he may say "this will be a lengthy trial is there any reason why you are unable to commit ?" , such as pregnancy or pre-booked holidays . The judge will then speak to them and again make the decision . Once the jury pool has been 'trimmed' , they'll then simply draw out the lots and swear them in . That's how it works in England anyway . I do wonder if there would be applications from either side to move the trial ? Again in England in cases that are highly charged 'locally' such as football violence or grooming matters can be shifted from liverpool to Preston or manchester to liverpool for example .
  4. Absolutely the way to handle spurious stories , in that area at the very least it's something to admire
  5. I know a little bit about English law (pretty limited admittedly ) so I originally thought he'd have been marked as MCD (must come down ) given the warrant issued by the high court . I wonder Does that mean that the Scottish matter has to be dealt with before the English matter can be resolved ?
  6. Who do I write to to complain about this sickening comment ?
  7. It certainly has the lack of respect to the poppy and minute s silence has certainly made people take notice especially given the upturn in military support amongst the civilian population in recent years . My company isn't a completely 'average' cross section but I've absolutely noticed it.
  8. The response to singing Rule, Britannia , the national anthem and anti-ira songs has been incredible to be honest . I can get that the media often make the point of relevance , that strangely they haven't this time given the stadium , but I certainly don't get the apologies for 'offence' ?.
  9. No surprise to anybody but I hope the whole country sees that . They dont have to wear a poppy , they should , but they don't gave to its a matter of choice but who doesn't respect a minutes silence ? You'd wrongly think everybody has the decency to just remain silent or even stay outside if it was that important and upset them that much but they don't have a decent bone in their body . People have given their lives but bravery & honour are concepts beyond their tiny verminous minds. Beneath contempt They are complete scum and a stain on this country , Shame on them again and again .
  10. Been in the job 5 minutes already been giving it the big one and talking about being passed over for other appointments. Typical of the bloke , if was he half as good as he thinks he is then Bolton would be in the Prem next year , fortunately he's not . Can't wait for him to crash and burn .
  11. A brilliant day . A superb gesture by a superb club, a lot more sides could learn from it, but nobody should be surprised by that .
  12. As a pair they've not played well then in the last couple of holes we've had that shot and Rory's putt and it finishes halved , epitomises why it's a great competition and the brilliance of those two that's just always there even if they aren't on top form .
  13. How could anyone not be proud of that ? I'm delighted the way it's worked out , democracy in action even though plenty seem to think you have to keep voting until you get what 'they' want North Korean Style . Well done to everyone whose proud to be part of the Union and contributed .
  14. Disgraceful . Every time he's made favourite for a job I lay him to death , if he ever gets one I'll Take a hefty loss but at the minute I'm doing pretty well out of him .
  15. Yeah remembered that after i'd posted, last time was at the height if when he was supposed to not be 'living right' . The Jamie Moore story , or at least connections ,were pretty well known even before he was shot but I'll be interested to know what's happened here . From reports it seems it was around 6am and close to where he was living so doesn't seen like a standard pub fight .
  16. Kell brook in hospital having been stabbed in the leg whilst on holiday in Tenerife , got to wonder how serious it is and what effect it'll have on possible future fights
  17. Thanks to the OP for this informative & interesting thread
  18. I kind of wanted to stay out of this thread and after being told I had no right to post on the board maybe I should have but I will not be called a Fenian , which we all know is an Irish republican I'm not having that by anyone for anything I served this country for over 20 years at home and abroad & buried lads that many on here aren't fit to even mention two of whom were evertonians and one of whom I travelled up to Ibrox for more than one game with . From what I've read here it seems he had no right to travel up for the game , thank God he didn't post here though coz the lad shouldnt have done that because it's not allowed. It's amazing that somebody on this board has thrown the kind of stuff that's been thrown but if we'd turned up at Ibrox in uniform they'd have cheered us . Tell you what I'm almost sorry that my family who have buried lads in service for this country for generations had the bad manners to select everton and rangers for me to follow , shame on them all hey ? The whole thing is ridiculous but I'll be up in the next few months and have a fantastic day . Pretty sure I'll just swerve posting here though . It's a great site and an even better club . Fingers crossed for the future
  19. I'm not his mate I don't know him , he seems to follow a football team that I do . I also came up to Rangers fairly regularly , although I didn't last year . I'm not looking to fall out like I say I care for the club and I've had some great days . I signed up because you were getting a kicking in the media and it wasn't deserved & it's been rightly proven to be not deserved . Not looking to cause problems fella and if me posting here is then I'll sort that , no bother . Won't change my interest in the club though .
  20. If i remember right Puncheon missed a pen for palace and Warnock had a pop saying he wouldn't have trusted him to take one , free kick fine but not a pen. Puncheon went on twitter 'alleging' Warnock was corrupt took bungs from players to select them . I've just Checked he tweeted " gives them extra wages n app bonus to make sure they pay him to get in the team or on the bench" . Also he didn't value his opinion , was never at training blah blah ... Puncheon was fined a few grand for it
  21. In my experience it's not any different now really.. Our large match going group has more than a few connections with the military and we've lost one lad in Iraq . As a result whatever their religious make up they've been , rightly , repulsed by those over at the dome and their lack of respect over such issues although many other things besides. So amongst us I don't know a lad who'd say he'd look for their results but obviously fans on both sides of merseyside have affiliations with Rangers and I sadly them. as I've said before in my experience religion has little influence on which side people follow on merseyside in 2014.
