VAR technology wise is fine even though it has totally ruined goal celebrations. There are two issues with it:
1.  Making sure the VAR and the ref have the benefit of all the camera angles when called to review a decision.  (disallowed goal against Dortmund)
2. Consistency with the interpretation of rules (Everton denied pen against City)

Gio is coming across as a rabbit in the headlights. Freezes and unsure whether to stick or twist.  Maybe the job is too big for him?  Hopefully not but he needs to be more self confident.   Big game against the sheep.
