We will probably start playing a bit now that the pressure is off, then as soon as were back to 5 or 6 points we will duly Fuck It right up again.
Mentally weak and physically inept players usually follow the above course of action.

Give Gerrard an annual budget of 60 mil, he'll win the fuckin CL or die trying.
Therein lies the gap, no matter how shite we say they are. Two back to back trebles and a strong possibility of a third. They aint any great shakes, but they have been over the course and got the edge.
We simply need better quality and I'm confident summer will see that happen.

Our only hope now is that the taigs become over confident and complacent.
But then again, I'm also convinced that our lot will drop many more points.
    I cannot trust our players.
You don't know what team is going to turn up from 1 week till the next.
Said months ago that the team that wins this league will be the team that fucks up slightly less than the rest.

Agreed. Metal is not there. All kili need to do is sit in. Stop us scoring. Either hit us on the break or take it to penalties.

We outplay them and win the old firm, and then turn to shite. They are outplayed and lose the old firm, and then go on a very decent run, and have hardly lost a goal.
Their players are way more mentally stronger than we are.

Europe has been a huge factor, I said it at the time. Too many games too early in the season, got us a bit of well needed dough, but it's partly to blame for the domestic situation. It's a contributing factor.

Whether you want to admit it or not, expecting to win a league title after two transfer windows is just unrealistic.

To give you a bit of background, i am a 40 something Rangers fan, who has watched the club from the mid 1980s. 1st season that I can honestly remember is 1986/87, thanks in part to that "championship season" video. I started going regularly to games around this time.
As we know during this era the club really kicked on, and right the way through the late 80s and 90s we achieved unparalleled success, it was a wonderful time to be a Rangers fan, and I am truly blessed to have witnessed that as a young man, I was 22 when we won 9iar.
We had some wonderful teams and wonderful players, who won virtually week in and week out. A couple of defeats and draws per season was the norm.
Now, bringing things up to where we are nowadays.
Is modern football unable to produce the type of players with this winning mentality unless you are paying £20 million for each player?
Is modern football unable to sustain the type of teams we had during this era?
Or are my expectation levels way too high? comparing to what my experiences have been in the past.
An example is the decade of the noughties, they were well below my expectation levels and during this time we won trebles, titles and various cups including the appearance at the Uefa Cup Final, but i feel we regressed big time during that decade, both on the park and off it. We were nowhere near as good as the previous decade.
The bottom line is are we expecting too much by comparing the current set up with the success we have experienced in the past? And if the answer is yes, what do we do to handle that expectation before it drives some of us potty, and we end up in the loony bin. How do we manage this expectation of our team?

Outwith McGregor and Morelos who has his other problem in this backwater, they are all simply average. Some better than others but still average. We just pay more for our average than the average of the other also rans. I make no apology, but yesterday overall, StJ looked to have better players and I've noticed it before with other opposition. It's simple, with average you get inconsistency, with the occassional barn stormer like we did against the scum. The problem for us, is the when we come up against the smaller teams, they raise their game and it's their cup final day and on the day their average can at least matches our average and worse as results have shown.
The scûm are sitting with a £60 mil wage bill, more than three times ours, so what the expectation? If we were them with that kind of spend we would be realistically expecting to win all three trophies every year at a canter and when we lost a game go into meltdown, much more than we do now and that would be hard to believe. Now we know they ain't world beaters, but the fact is realistically it's second place. For now we live in hope, until yesterday that is, that they slip up and we can show some kind of consistency to make a serious challenge which we have failed to do under 4 managers now in the top flight in a very short time.
That burn rate in managers is horrendous and cannot go on.
The economics of the game have changed in that England is where it's at and becuse of it's proximity, we doubly suffer both in a talent drain and being unable to afford even an average player from down there. Outwith loans, the best we can attract is dross, compared to back in the day we had the captain of England and the English keeper in tow and even better from the continent. Those days are firmly gone forever.
The game then really hit the skids when we got unceremoniously pumped to the bottom division and gave the scum unfettered access to CL money and left us with the gap we have with them today. However access to the CL is now more difficult and now affecting their coffers a being the tight fisted bastards they are, they will cut back, so without doing anything,  the gap closes.
We cannot yet match their spending, but we can get smarter and bring in a better transfer strategy. Still too many average in and out our now revolving door, when we could be more smart bringing in less but with a better quality of player and build it up year on year to more than match the scum. That is achievable but we will need a change in mind set from both the board and management. The results show that quantity over quality only leads to disapointment and failure.
The halcion days are over, but that doesn't mean we can't recover and take titles. Just need to get more smart about it.
Realistacally the head says second, but because of who and what we are, the heart will always say first every time, and why not, even with the disappointment of not doing it.
Our day will come and it aint too far off and when it does, it will make up for all those disappointments, because will will have done it with honour and integrity intact, unlike those reprobates in the east end.

Good post mate but I don't think us expecting them to be able to do the basics is asking too much.they are well paid for the job they do.but in a lot of the games this season our passing, moving positional sense, shooting, crossing, decision making, set pieces ect have been abysmal.and they have let everyone of us down time and again.

As a support I don't think we can do anymore, we've put money in, we've bought the merchandise, we've packed Ibrox and other grounds all over Scotland and in Europe.
These guys will never ever play for better supporters in their careers.
Why can't they do the business on a consistent basis?

No way do we expect too much.
the fact is that our resources far outstrip any other club bar the bheasts- so even if we don’t win the league we should be far more consistent against the rest.
Put it into perspective- they absolutely demolished St Johnstone three times in two weeks and we can’t muster a single goal against them in front to 50,000 dedicated supporters that pay their wages. That’s a scandal.

Our squad isn't good enough to put up a season long sustained title challenge, whilst having 10-15 games in Europe.
We need to be finishing 2nd every season without fail, get to as many finals as possible and then build from there.
People expecting Rangers to win the league is a massive monkey on our back, that doesnt help, as we dont have the players or the squad to cope with at the moment!

I think SG himself offers some insight into perspective in his RTV post match interview today.  Scathing.  Raging.  A very unhappy manager.  Unhappy with the response he is getting from his players.   Thing is though, if he can't get the right sort of response from them (and he acknowledges its not the first time he's been saying this) then what happens next for the rest of the season.    He's only saying what a lot of the Support is saying but how he gets players to respond positively to this does not seem to be something he is yet able to achieve.
