Stevie-G on life at Rangers.
Arrowtown Pie replied to Drunk and disorderly.'s topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
It's still early days for SG but it very much looks like the promise of what we hoped he could bring to the job of managing Rangers - desire, commitment, direction, professionalism and passion - are indeed in evidence. So very different from the last few years and such a welcome blast of fresh air. -
Beattie was a proper player, tough as teak. Sad to hear he's passed away.
-
Tough call but reckon Peter Jones and Jimmy Armfield. Alan Green too, if only for his refusal to toe the BBC line and call games ' woeful' if he thought they were.

Bates is a young lad who has done well this season. He isn't brilliant but he's just about the best we have there. Which maybe tells you more about the other options than it does about the boy himself. Shame he's going as he would have been very useful to have in the squad.

We moan about overpaid prima-donnas in the EPL but the likes of Broad, Anderson,Root, Stokes etc al are just the same - so far up themselves they'll never need an enema.

Brenda Rodgers to replace Wenger?
Arrowtown Pie replied to AlCapone's topic in General Football & Sport
The bullshitting no-mark got found out in EPL when he didn't have Suarez and Sturridge to save his sorry ass. -
The sheep are a disgraceful joke
Arrowtown Pie replied to Loyaleastend's topic in General Football & Sport
What makes it worse is that they too had the chance to close the gap to both them and us and bottled out from it. If they can't put up a show for that then they deserve all the flak they get. -
Has rogers done a deal with desmond?

Never confuse incompetence with strategy mate. -
The changing nature of football

Well, not third in the list anyhow. -
Maradonna was a fine player who at his best was the equal of Messi or any player I've seen. However, the longevity and durability of Messi - and consequently his phenomenal stats - suggests Messi has performed to a consistently higher level for longer. Think Messi has more in his locker for the team than Maradonna too if I'm honest so he gets my vote.

Davis would be a brilliant signing, still a quality player and his experience would help the young boys in the middle of the park. However, it's just going to happen really is it.

Will Murty keep the job if we finish 2nd?
Arrowtown Pie replied to BlueBearz1990's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
He's done better than OK for a guy who's learning on the job so to speak, and in his attitude and manner he is a credit to the club but don't think he's the man for next year. I'd like to think that a proven manager has already been lined up for the summer, if not then it's back to looking at who is available come June. -
I think the team has significantly improved since September/October time. The gap between us and them at that point isn't anything like as obvious now. Will be interesting to compare points gained from now until the end of the season - think it'll be difficult to catch them but very hopeful we reduce the deficit. Has been a good window for us, pleased with how things are looking and the news from 4lads sounds very promising.

Sometimes he's good, sometimes not so much. Always tries 100% though - he gets my vote every time.

Leeds United got a new crest....
Arrowtown Pie replied to Mols94's topic in General Football & Sport
No liking for the Leeds club but that new badge is horrendous. -
Like everyone else, think GM is a good guy with the best interests of the club at heart and would enjoy him making a success of the job. This transfer window looks to be an encouraging start, but we will all know a little more about his suitability for the job come the end of the season.

No spinner and no quicks. Playing on a flat deck where the ball doesn't seam or reverse and the attack is really limited, no variation all right arm 135k
-
England have only taken 20 wickets in about 2 of the last dozen Tests they've played overseas - that's the problem.
-
Think he's really improved since Pedro's assessment after the Thistle game too - the DM role suits him more IMHO. A good player now with a real chance of being a top player in a couple of years time. Has the attitude and heart that you can relate to, fingers crossed only good things to come from this young fella.

Hmmm, that worked out well then Mark?

Billy Gilmour - Living the dream

Very tough for a young player to come through the youth system and make regular first team football at Chelsea - good luck to the lad if he does buck the trend and make it happen. -

Agreed - top pundit and genuine good guy. -

Anyone expecting the bloody BBC to be unbaised is deluding themselves - they promote their agenda shamelessly. -
Alex Neil is the board’s number one target

If that's right about waiting for PNE then it's " thanks but no thanks Alex" FFS.
