He needs a tactically disciplined, experienced, CM beside him to flourish.
It’s the one position I think we need to not worry about any resale value/age/ as part of a transfer model. Go out and buy a good 6 who is 27/28 years old.

Would like to see more of Fraser and McKinnon, see what they can offer. Could save us a few million if they can be back ups next season for sure.
I’m a big fan of McKinnon.
A good player with a great attitude. I’ve said it on here before that while the jury is out whether he makes it here I think he’ll at the very least have a good SPFL or English Championship career minimum.

Thought Raskin grew into the game. Did alot good tonight. Hopefully see that midfield for hampden.
I think that midfield will get killed.
We had to basically play the fullbacks completely inverted in the second half tonight to shore things up.

Raskin, Diomande, Cantwell and Yilmaz are all so tactically bad individually but combined it’s a complete shitstorm.

The odds were already against us after father column cheated us with a red card that never was even a booking. But I still held out hope that we would win the last two games and that mob would throw it away. Edit we have got one back. This title isn't over yet. The odds undoubtledly are against us but imagine how mad they would be if we win this after they won most of the old firm games.
You’re a lunatic.

Mind him mouthing off on Sky Sports about how he wanted to score 15 goals from midfield when we first signed him.
Guy doesn’t get himself into the final third enough to have 15 shots a season
Do think that is tactical at times. He has shown when off the leash a bit he can pick up balls on the edge of the box and thrash them in. But again, he's in a system where he has to sit most of the time and it comes back to signing a player that only really works in certain situations a few times a season. I'm probably his biggest critic on this forum but that's not exactly his fault.

Every signing is a risk etc, but he only thrived in a very particular system at Sheffield United. 532/352 IIRC.
Always a bit wary of signings like that, where he's suddenly expected to come into a side that dominates 80% of their matches.
Would be easy to blame Ross Wilson, but seemed like Gerrard really wanted him. Either way, always been a bit of a baffling signing.
Yeah the reason why he excelled against teams like Dortmund and Leipzig is because we weren't expected to be possession dominant against them. We had a lot more freedom to play off the cuff on the counter rather than rely on penetrating low blocks.

Quite ironic that his Rangers career has probably ended the exact same way it started, a stupid red card right before half time that put us right up against it. Think it was in the europa league qualifying.
He was horrendous over in Sweden for the first leg against Malmo.
Then got sent off against Alashkert.
Then never tracked the runner when we got beat off Dundee United to end the league undefeated streak.
I remember him getting subbed on at Ross County, it was the first game with an away section, and the reception he got was so frosty
He was always a baffling signing because he has never been suited to playing in a possession based system.

It actually gives me GAA vibes. Like an Armagh training jersey or something.

Joe Hart played a short pass to Johnson and Lundstrum knew he was getting there first. Johnson recognises that the ball is short and, instead of trying to play the ball (which he would've been second to), he instead attempts to 'shield' it, as a result he places his foot into the path in which Lundstrum is sliding. It wasn't actually a 'tackle', because Johnson's not in possession of the football. All Johnson does is put himself into the line of fire of an opponent who's getting in ahead of him.
But, when you find a still image of a set of studs striking someone's ankle then all of the above context is completely lost. The ref has the full context when he sees it live, he sees it's a player attacking a short pass, he sees the contact and gives it a yellow. Still images should absolutely not be used, get on with the game.
All your post highlights is that Lundstram was out of control.
He's dived in studs up at a significant pace and Johnston has time to adjust and shield the ball as any normal footballer would. Lundstram then can't do anything to avoid the challenge because of the way he's committed.
He's hit him high, studs up on the calf, at a high speed. It's a possible leg breaker or something that can do knee ligaments. It's an absolute, textbook, stonewall red card and monumentally stupid. Ticked all the boxes of reckless and endangering the safety of an opponent.

Gerrard didn’t help himself by blowing the easiest route to champions league football that we could have been presented with.
This.
We had pushed the boat out in the 55 season. We had also paid money in the previous season to get Jack Simpson early even though we were getting him for free that summer. We sanctioned a significant wage for Lundstram and a new contract for Defoe. And he allegedly put his foot down on no players being sold.
He then fucked up Malmo. I'm sure if we qualified he would have got more money to spend.

Is the treble still alive in the womens game?
Love a treble dream, me
Yes but we need Hearts to do us a big favour against Celtic on Wednesday night. A draw will do as long as we win.
I’m not expecting Hibs to do much next Sunday at Parkhead.

I've got Cadiz Getafe on and the commentator is American.

Aye I'd agree with that. Ricksen was at least early on and went on to improve and become fucking brilliant.
Senderos and Barton - wtf were we even doing signing then less said the better.
Lundstram, he's been here long enough now, and shown enough ability, that this level of performance is totally unacceptable.
For me, it's the worst out of the lot.
Ricksen was a good midfielder.
Shocking as a full back.

Köln Union Berlin has been fucking unbelievable.

Weve been saying that for the first OF under Clement as well. Look where it got us.
We have a squad full of players that is full of garbage that is at the same time completely injury ravaged.
The last time we were in two cup finals and still in the league post split was 2009.
I have no idea what people expect of him.
