I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it another hundred times in my lifetime, but for my money, he’s the greatest Ranger of all time. 

One of the greatest people to be involved in our club full stop was Walter. 

Everybody talks about Walter Smith coming in and signing Weir and Ehigou to shore up the defence, but look at the way he addressed the middle of the park too.
Sold Clement, who was a decent, cultured midfielder, but probably not a player best suited to what we needed to become at that time to win the title back, and replaced him for the same money with Thomson, who could play but had that little bit more steel, know how of the league and leadership than Clement did.

There is no right or wrong answer to Ryan signing on for one more year IMO.
