Gerrard.   Piloted Rangers to an excellent European run and made a big contribution to improving the visibility and quality of Scottish football.   Rebuilt Rangers to produce a solid title challenge.   Brought exciting players to Rangers for Scottish football to see - Kent for instance.

What has Clarke done other than coach a side that sets out to play negative football designed not to lose and to accumulate safety points.

I'm no fan of him but in the 12 months between 2018 until 1st Jan 2019, his shite team had more points than us and the filth.

    Quite an achievement.

No, I'm pointing out that Ramadan isn't solely for one individual sect of Islam so catholics, as part of the wider Christian faith, get a message at Xmas.

If we are an all inclusive Club, I look forward to Judaism, Hinduism etc to receive similar messages on the appropriate days relevant to them.

That is true tolerance, all encompassing.

If we are not intent on doing this for all faiths, I would question why not..

Are you implying Christmas is the sole reserve of Catholics?

They have days that are exclusively Catholic, I await us acknowledging our separated brethren outright as we have done for Islam.

Dangerous road for the Club to go down.

We either acknowledge all faiths on their religious days or we acknowledge none.

I would prefer we acknowledge none.

  4. Looked like an ex Ranger was keeping them up by half time.

Notts County lost their proud status as the world’s oldest Football League club as they were relegated as they were beaten 3-1 at Swindon.

Needing to win and for Macclesfield to lose, the Magpies had put themselves in dreamland when Kane Hemmings had scored from the penalty spot after Craig Mackail-Smith was fouled.

At that stage early in the second half, Notts were safe as Macclesfield were losing 1-0 at home to Cambridge amid huge roars from the away end.

But Elliott Durrell’s equaliser at Moss Rose made the away end fall silent and their hopes of staying up were ultimately dashed when Kaiyne Woolery outpaced Sam Stubbs to score Swindon’s equaliser.

Notts went all out attack in the search for a winner as Jon Stead was sent on for David Vaughan hoping that Notts would not rue missed chances from Stubbs and Enzio Boldewijn.

After Craig Mackail-Smith had flicked a shot into the arms of Luke McCormick, Swindon broke and when Rob Milsom and Mitch Rose challenged for the same ball it broke to Theo Robinson.

The striker kept his composure to rifle high beyond Ryan Schofield which prompted chants of “going down, going down” from Swindon’s fans.

Robinson then wrapped up the victory when he turned in from close range after Notts had failed to deal with a corner.

It was going to take an almighty turnaround for Notts to score four goals, but even if they had it would have proved futile as Macclesfield only needed a point to guarantee their league status.

It means Notts will now enter the National League next season for the first time in their 157-year history as the saddest and darkest chapter in the club’s history was written.
