I feel sorry for him to an extent in that he’s been put in an impossible situation and is out of his depth but he really should have walked after Sunday. Carrying on in the role isn’t doing himself, the players or the fans any good. The only people gaining from it is the board.

That wasn’t a bad team that season despite finishing 5th. Most of the team won the league the next season but with Woods, Butcher and then Roberts added.
Guys like Jimmy Nic, Tin Man, Munro, Coops, etc found a different level under the magnificent bastard Souness. That’s the kind of shake up we need this summer.
