The French winger had been expected to join Schalke but the transfer collapsed and PSG then contacted Gers chairman Martin Bain. Bain forged links with PSG during the Emirates Cup in pre-season and was keen to discuss a deal for Rothen. It is now believed that Rothen has flown into Glasgow for final talks and will complete a switch later on Tuesday. Rothen could arrive on a season-long loan or a permanent contract, with PSG ready to do business after he fell down the pecking order at Parc des Princes.
