STATEMENT:

The Rangers v St Mirren fixture scheduled for Saturday 18 December has been postponed.

The thaw following the recent extreme cold has led to significant water damage in various parts of the stadium including Scottish Premier Leagueinterruption to the water supply in some spectator areas.

The extent of the damage is such there is no prospect of the necessary repairs being completed before the weekend.

In consultation with Strathclyde Police and on the basis of safety advice received the SPL decided to postpone the fixture.

A new date will be announced in due course.

A Club spokesman commented: "It is regrettable that the game is off and we feel for the supporters but the situation was unavoidable given the amount of damage to the pipes at the stadium."

Let's say we do well in the Europa League.

What are the odds those games will be played in April ?

I don't think it could be in April, could it?

Because of the league split.. they couldn't split the league when not everyone has played the same amount of games I think!

This is starting to get serious with the Murderwell on Boxing Day, and the St Johnstone game on the 29th both in real danger of being called off as well.

Not to mention the Dundee Ushited game on Tuesday!

WTF is going to happen if we get a wee run in the Europa Cup?

are people actually reading the story? its got nothing to do with the weather, theres burst pipes in the stadium, that the works have said will not be ready by saturday. If they had cancelled the game on saturday because of this, the same people would be complaining, they should have told us earlier etc etc.

Plus, when the works are taking pictures of there bare arses outside the stadium gates, no fuckin wonder the repairs wont be done before the weekend.

Did people actually bother to read the article?

Not much you can do about it - repairs will obviously take a bit of time and wont be done in time.

Bit of a nightmare, the fixtures are going to start to build up, and it now gives celtc the chance to move to the top of the league, albeit with them playing a game more. If only we hadn't fcuked about up at Inverness and got the job done.

At least Bougherra, McGregor and Naismith won't pick up a booking, but I'd still rather our games went ahead.
