pollok-loyal 1
If Vincent Lunny decides to hand out a ban, Rangers should appeal it, will have to be thrown out, remember O'Conners outrageous dive, his manager Billy Brown admitted Garry dived, Hibs appealed and his ban was rescinded. Adoniram 1,919
I still don't understand how a player can get a 2 game ban for a dive, through this new system, but if caught diving in a game the referee books the player.Rule 18 in the SFA rulebook states : If he is wearing a blue jersey with white shorts and the name is Rangers then the previous 17 rules do not apply. nelsonRFC82 305
How do you actually "prove" someone dived anyway? OK if ther is noone near you and you throw yourself in the air, it may be clear cut but falling is a lot less obvious. Was there any contact at all? Could he have slipped? Could he have been off balance? Could even use the Tony mowbray excuse of being tired after running x amount of yards! Questions that would have to be asked and surely satisfactory proven otherwise in any appeal!Although that relies on the assumption innocent until proven guilty applies to the SFA! TangoRomeo 51
The ban would be two matches because he caused the referee to make an incorrect decision. That’s the rules. As O'Connor got let off with an identical incident the precedent has been set. If any ban is handed out for Aluko then it makes a mockery of an already shameful organisation. thebooler 4,509
The guys charged with running the game of football in Scotland are actually wrecking it with their own incompetence. If given a 2 match ban for a yellow card offence, the SFA are basically saying that since the Ref was incapable of doing his job properly, and booking the player, they are now going to hand him a 2 match ban.Whit a fuckin shambles these guys are making of our game. rossDas 1,071
It can be argued that since Aluko was deliberately impeded by the opposition player he was in actual fact helping the referee to make the correct decision; had there been no foul then we would have no grounds for complaint, double standards aside of course. marmalade1872 40
the ban will start to coincide with the next old firm match
sillybilly 151
One thing to come from all this. We should highlight and complain about ANY dodgy decisions taken from now on.Now they have called Aluko in, they have set a precedent and will have to do the same if other players break the rules. However much they might think they can, they can't apply the rules selectively. They have opened up a huge can of worms with this and they'll need more compliance officers.we said that when naisy got banned and there have been incidents since and no one else has been done. One rule for one and not for the others.

DougieGers 26
If aluko gets banned after the appeal which is no doubt coming it makes a mockery of this wonderful new system the sfa put in place considering the oconner dive and subsequent sucessful appeal. kplfishtank 4,656
the ref on the panel will take one look at it and point out the foul then they van all go to lunch.there is no ref or panel, the decision is made by VINCENT DE PAUL LUNDY , we should get a fair hearingive not changed my mind , i think he dived, but to give a player a 2 match ban for a yellow card offence is scandalous. gronaldo 38
It was a dive as far as I'm concerned, but the problem I have with this (and other cases like Mikoliunas against Scotland) is that the offence is no worse simply because the referee missed it.If the referee had called it a dive at the time, Aluko would have just got a yellow card. The offence is the same in both cases, the only thing that changes is whether the referee makes the correct decision or not. Why punish players for the referee's error (if it's deemed to be an error at all)?
new eagle 10
Hope ally Tells them to shove there bias decision up there fuckin arse!!!
Gazzanova 328
This is a fucking shambolic decision i'd see the point if he went down and got up harassing the ref for a penalty but he never he was tugged went down and the ref pointed to the spot right away, that's not Sones fault. I think the mafia's involved, Romanov was on to something
