NorthernLights 2,526 Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Hibernian striker Leigh Griffiths is facing a third ban within two months for gestures made at supporters.The 21-year-old has been offered a two-match suspension for a one-finger salute at fans during Saturday's 3-2 defeat by St Johnstone.He has already received a one-game ban for gesturing at Rangers fans during a 2-0 defeat by Rangers on 10 December.And he will miss the next round of the Scottish Cup for a gesture at his club's own fans on 7 January.That came after a 3-2 win over Cowdenbeath that set up a home tie against Scottish Premier League rivals Kilmarnock.After Hibs failed to win their appeal against that second suspension for breaching rule 200 with "offensive, insulting or abusive gestures", manager Pat Fenlon warned Griffiths about his future behaviour.However, the striker on loan from Wolves has now been offered a two-game ban by Scottish Football Association compliance officer Vincent Lunny after the league defeat at Easter Road.It came on the same day as Motherwell striker Michael Higdon was offered a one-game ban for a gesture seemingly aimed at his own fans during a 1-1 draw with Dundee United.However, Griffiths' suspension has been doubled "as the player has been reported for this offence twice in the same competition".Should Griffiths accept the latest ban, he will miss Saturday's trip to Ibrox to face Rangers and the visit by Aberdeen on 11 February - he is already out of the Cup tie against Kilmarnock a week earlier.If he rejects the offer, his appeal will be heard at a fast track tribunal will consider the case on Thursday 26 January.http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16704239.stmAnd there were people that wanted us to sign him. :mervan: Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
