disgruntled_bear 157
So 2 guys who thought they could rinse rangers for millions and .... King.As far as I know. I'm expecting Ellis to be next to leave. Leaving it to a straight up power struggle between King and Whyte.

ricksen_da_best 2,034
As far as I know. I'm expecting Ellis to be next to leave. Leaving it to a straight up power struggle between King and Whyte. At least with king we know he's only got one interest and thats Rangers. Outwith all his other tax problems, he's a rangers man. Bad Robot 21,151
Interesting to see Gordon Smith hitting out at Whyte to a degree and saying he wasn't allowed to do his job.Moving these two on should free up wages and save jobs though which is a good thing I would have preferred GS to leave his critcism until this is all sorted.I do believe both are comfortable enough finacially and maybe they have done the decent thing to save jobs.Im sure they both will return when we're back on our feet. krissg910 110
atleast we now know why smith appeared to be doing fuck all. because cw wouldnt let him
the brown brogue 1,909
It appears that both were just token appointments to give the impression to the outside world that Whyte had a long-term vision for the club while he's systematically torn the club apart from the inside. Edmiston Drive 3,846
It was inevitable that the two of them would leave, is their roles needed in the current position we are in? Next up? McDowall or Durrant?Durrant I would say as he really doesn't do anything of any significance.
marmalade1872 40
they might all go we might end up with a school janny running the team
Gash07 26
I believe Smith when he says he wasn't being allowed to do his job, a man of his experience could never have been behind the shambles that was our transfer dealings. However this begs the question, why did it take the administrators to remove him from his position? If, as he states, he wasn't allowed carry out his remit he should have resigned long ago. What was he doing? Collecting a nice wage? Doesn't speak well for the man. graeme_4 34,534
I doubt Gordon smith was in on this con from Whyte. A victim like the rest of us as he is a good rangers man.Exactly, abuse he takes is completely unnessecary
Jig 14
I think this was coming. I doubt either will be greatly missed at this time.
NorthernLights 2,526
Two wages freed up. Rather them than the playing staff.
whytes3 254
I think Smith will be a loss as I believe he could have played a vital role in developing the youth and scouting set up at the cliub. I'm glad he has also lifted the lid on some of the issues he faced (albeit not in great detail). The main thing though is survival in the short term and I'd rather see the 2 of them go than us trimming the squad. dan_ger 1,454
It will be interesting to see what Smith says about what has been going on the last few months. He has friends in the media, he must have talked to some of them during his time. However if he was aware of anything really untoward I would want to know why he didn't speak out. Guardian 4,281
I reckon the team management staff will be working for nothing or gone by this time next week.
dan_ger 1,454
I think he had some good ideas and it is really disappointing that he never got to get them going. When he was at the sfa he was always talking about his ideas which makes it all the more strange that he hardly spoke at all whilst at Rangers. dan_ger 1,454
I reckon the team management staff will be working for nothing or gone by this time next week.Reckon Ally will stay on indefinitely. Perhaps the other will work until they find other jobs.

craighenry81 119
Good never really trusted smith (don't know why) tbh don't think coisty was to keen on him getting in on his business. Think smith was the one who decided to sign McKay bedoya and Ortiz hence the reason for being first out the door
MrSifter 181
I don't know much about Russell but everyone should be wishing Gordon Smith well. He's a great Rangers man and very intelligent. Both men have put out dignified statements and can hold their heads up high as they walk out the front door.
