simplythebest 11,453 Posted June 24, 2012 Share Posted June 24, 2012 I agree.My point though, is that this reliance on the older players has to end.Terry won't be first choice in the 2014 World Cup most likely, and neither will the likes of Lampard, Gerrard etc.There's no point in letting them hold on to the dream.Bring through youngsters and blood them, giving them experience and let them gel as a squad, that way they'll be ready for the World Cup when it comes.I agree generally, but you still need some mixture of youth and experience. How have Ghana set the world alight? England can't make the next step to beat the likes of Germany, Spain, Italy etc but to call them worse than Ghana and the USA is very harsh.
