Hopefully, as many of us were thinking it might be bad. But it does seems over the top to come out hours in advance and say a statement is coming.

Doncaster makes a good point. What is the difference in a sporting sense of cutting your debt by CVA or cutting your debt by Newco? Not much as in both cases a large chunk of the debt is wiped and you start with a clean slate.
