***The Official Rangers v Elgin City Thread***

Good result, and as much as people are saying the defence was shocking, they didn't have that much to do. Wallace and Argyriou looked assured, and Cribari was tidy without being spectacular. It was only a couple of uncomfortable moments for young Perry.

All in all, it was a good run out in terms of building more match fitness and team cohesion.

It seems though that we don't want to embarrass these small teams completely at Ibrox- Elgin were dead on their feet after 50-odd - but in a way, I'm glad we didn't keep going for more goals.

Fucking burley, how many times did the bastard mention wee McLeods challenge...bitter bitter bastard.

He had the cheek to 'praise' the fans at Ibrox... and then went on to say that he hoped the 'bitterness' wouldn't last until we were back in the spl. So now having great fans in times of perceived adversity is being bitter...???

He is just an idiot, to be honest. He should take his wallies oot during commentary. At least then, his verbal diarrhoea would have some entertainment value.

And, coincidentally, he would sound exactly like he should sound. Like a drooling, rambling, slabbering fool.

the two comentators obviously ran out of things to say at half time, they just kept repeating themselves and talking shite. Cracking result for us though and at times some really good moves and football. There were times our defence looked poor, but its early days as they are still trying to gel.

Great performance from the team today, started off slowly with them scoring first albeit it was offside. Glad with the way the players picked up and went for it. 5-1 was an understatement as it could've been much more. Jig was outstanding and absolutely deserves the captain's arm band (although many thought he should've had it at the very beginning of the season). Templeton was class as well, I expected a great match from him but to chip with two good goals was fantastic!

Very happy with the score today and am confident the defence will gel in time and we'll start to see more clean sheets too! ;):21:

Was about to make a thread on this but didn't think i'd bother...

That was a good performance in the end, but why does it always take a goal from the opposition or a bad start of some sort to shock us into performing? We've been slow starters in almost all of our games this season, we should be able to play how we did after Elgin scored from the start of the match.
