Phil 1,150
I think it's great that they can put local rivalry aside in honour of people that went to a game of football and never returned, through no fault of their own.All credit to Everton and their fans for that gesture. That was some quick thinking right there. That would have spoiled the tribute........................if you think what the numbers would have read as. Devlin 222
Safe to say there'd be a lot of Evertonians effected by the disaster.

Devlin 222
Liverpool as a whole was effected as was sheffieldExactly, yet some would rather it was exclusive to Liverpool F.C

Gaz52 11,837
I don't see how it was too far, it was the first EPL game in Merseyside after the Hillsborough files were released.Everton were reaching a hand out to their neighbours and showing they were with them

andyhrfc 2,242
Superb from EFC and representative of general feelings in the city. Out of interest anyone remember the response from Celtic fans within Glasgow after the Ibrox Disaster?
gsa 3,906
Don't really understand why they are clapping. What on earth is there to applaud? (Apart from how Liverpool is just such a great city full of loveable scamps with Hearts (SFL3 feeder club) of gold)
philiprfc 1,799
Yeah, the applause is the only thing I have issue with. Other than that, it's a nice touch.

Gers1690 194
Everton-Liverpool is an amicable rivalry - you have brothers where one is red one is blue; fathers and sons where one is red and one is blue - it's a brotherly rivalry and it's in no way surprising at the tribute they made and it would have been reciprocated if it was the other way round. I'd be surprised if Man Utd fans later respected the tribute though to be honest.
